SHARING OUR STORY

Want to know more about what this new regional agency means for you? We'd love to come speak to your group. We're out in the community several times a month sharing the CFX story.

Email Alayna Curry or call her directly at 407-690-5345 to set up a presentation!

In the last month, Alayna has presented to the Kiwanis Club of Umatilla (pictured above with CFX Chairman Welton Cadwell), the Orlando Breakfast, Leesburg Sunrise, Ocoee and Orlando Evening Rotaries and the South Orlando Kiwanis Club (below).

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Do CFX employees receive free tolls?

No! CFX employees and board members do not receive free tolls. Our system is based on user fees. Just like you, CFX team members are responsible to fund the system if we choose to ride it.

SPEED LIMIT INCREASE

Last October, our board voted to adjust the speed limit on SR 417 and SR 429 from 65 MPH to 70 MPH. Both expressways were designed and built to handle speeds up to 70 MPH.

CFX and Florida's Turnpike Enterprise have planned a coordinated effort to replace the speed limit signs over the weekend of Saturday, Jan. 24. Once they're up, the speed limit has legally changed. Please remember to always use caution when driving. Stay focused on the road and never text and drive!

WRONG WAY DRIVING
PILOT PROGRAM

Wrong way driving incidents are dangerous and often fatal. For the last two years, CFX has been working on a pilot program to help prevent these types of crashes. We're now ready for the installation and testing phase.

Over the next few months, we will be placing wrong way signs (see below) on the ramps at SR 528/520, as well as Hiawassee and Kirkman on SR 408.

Detection technology will set off flashing lights on the signs when a car is driving the wrong way. The system will also help us better coordinate with law enforcement.

Safety is a top priority for us, and we believe that this new program will continue to make our system safer for our customers.

THINK CFX

I-4 Ultimate construction begins in February.

If I-4 is part of your daily commute, consider the expressway system as an alternative to the congestion.

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

Did you know that the second floor of our building is dedicated to the E-PASS call center? Monday through Friday, you can call and speak to one of our representatives about your account.

DAVID HICKEY works in the accounting department for our call center. Here's a little bit about him:

How long have you worked with us?

I started in 2002 as a customer service representative in the call center. Since then, I've worked in the mail room, scanning department and, in 2007, I became the accounting assistant.

What do you do every day?

I oversee deposits from the service centers, talk to customers about billing issues and help with inventory. I really like being able to help people resolve account and payment issues.

What did you do before working here?

I actually went to school in New York to be a chef. I used to be a cook at the restaurant inside the SunTrust building near Sand Lake. Our E-PASS team always wants me to bring in some homemade food!
