The other main reason for my trip to Israel was to finalize the itinerary, meet the guides, and check out a few extra potential sites to visit. The more I talked about a chronological tour of Israel that avoided the religious structures and got to the heart of the story, the more I realized how unique this tour is going

to be.

One of the facinating

aspects I experienced during the Aglow International tour was meeting one of the soldiers who took part in the Battle of Ammunition Hill , one of the fiercest battles of the Six-Day War in 1967. Twenty six of his colleagues perished in a tiny block of land. You you can stand in the trenches that are preserved there today. It brought home the gritty, grim reality of the conflict in the Middle East in way I have never experienced before.

I also went to Independence Hall, where the nation of Israel was proclaimed and to Palmach Museum, which recounts the lives of nine young men and women who fought in the resistance during and after the British mandate.

It was a moving experience and has been been added to our "Jesus to Modern Israel" leg of the tour.

Model of Jerusalem

We visited the fabulous model of Jerusalem at the Israeli museum and the shrine of the book that preserves the Dead Sea Scroll parchments.

I also visited Masada for first time. The deeply impressive ruins are of the desert fortress built by the same paranoid king Herod who killed babies in Bethlehem after Jesus was born.

We visited Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were written and hidden, and read with fresh eyes about how John the Baptist was probably a member of this Essene sect before he baptized Jesus.

Dead Sea Scroll fragment

The man with a donkey carrying water that led to the place of last supper was also probably an unmarried member of this sect because

in Jesus' day it was women who carried the water.

It is little tiny shards of truth like this that help bring the Bible to life after a trip to Israel.

To make this tour even more unique we will have six Australian indigenous leaders participating with us, helping us to understand how to feel what is happening in the land and exploring the lands of the Bible through a pre-Constantinian lens.

If you have wanted to both experience Israel and get insight into indigenous Australian culture, this will be an outstanding tour for you.

Numbers are strictly limited - there there are only nine spaces left. Ask the Lord if one of those seats has your name on it and maybe....this year in Jerusalem.

With the addition of these special sites to the 19- day tour of Israel and Jordan I am even more convinced that this will be a life -changing experience for each of us that participates. We will be using banners in powerful new ways, we will be ministering to local congregations and we will have unique experiences that very few ever get the chance to undertake in the land.

See the video below to get an overview of the tour.

From David's Desk...

I have just returned from Israel where I went to prepare for the tour I will be leading from September 23 through October 13.

I had an intense three weeks in Israel where I spent 10 days coordinating with a potential guide for the tour and then went on a 9-day tour with Aglow International. I wanted to share some highlights of that trip and invite you to consider if you would like to fill one of the last nine places available on this year's tour.

We also share a story of Muslim man who collided with Jesus and is now using banners to touch his community in Sydney, Australia.

We are getting more and more stories coming back about how people are using their banners to shift the atmosphere in their city or region. Let me encourage you to not let your banners sit idle. They are an effective tool and weapon to bring change in the spirit realm in your sphere of influence.

They are most effective when human hands are moving them!

Be encouraged to raise your banners yet again.

In Him,

Banners in Israel

There are several verses in the Bible that link banners with the land of Israel. They tell us that God uses banners to move and call people groups, and that when banners are used with declaration and intercession they change the fortunes of this small tract of land.

The Bible also says that as we raise up banners, God will return His people to the land.

Glorious Victory billow

For over decade I have been exploring the interaction between banners and Israel and my recent trip to Israel has confirmed that there is a significant and unique link . While in Israel I was spontaneously invited to teach about banners in two Spanish-speaking congregations and one Hebrew one, and later ran a workshop.

During a Passover celebration at an oasis in the desert of southern Israel I was given permission to put banners out for anyone to use. There was a rush to use the banners, quite unlike in any other nation I had been in, and as we used them with passion, naturally they just worked!

With the Aglow International tour I also had opportunities to use banners on several occasions. When we went out as a group in "Jesus Boats" on the Sea of Galilee, we used about 20 small banners flying in the breeze in the middle of the lake. It

was fresh and powerful.

Later, at the top pf the Masada fortress ne

ar the Dead Sea, I felt prompted to unfurl a giant Glorious Victory banner.

About 100 Christians visiting

the site spontaneously began to sing a song about His glory. It was a spine-tingling experience.

In the Spanish and Hebrew congregations it took very little coaxing to get men involved with and using the banners. It just seems that the atmosphere is ready to receive banners in Israel.

We also used banners in a kibbutz where many Jewish people are followers of Jesus.

At Qumran I was able

to finally purchase an English translation of the Dead Sea Scrolls, which I have been after for six years.

Within the text there is a mythical story about the final battle between the "sons of light" and the "sons of darkness". The whole battle is played out using banners with words and names written on them. The purpose of the banners was to align the hosts of heaven with the hosts of the earth.

Expect to hear more about this soon!!!

Now about YOUR calling and destiny!

It's a great privilege for me to take banners and introduce them to people who have never used them before - I LOVE IT!!

But I didn't start in Israel - I started in my own hometown with people I knew.

Who do you know right now who could benefit from using a banner?

Who is there in your sphere of influence that you have the courage and opportunity to touch with a banner?

You can potentially open up a whole new way for them to have intimacy with Jesus, hear His voice and do something with what He tells them.

I started with one person and a couple of small one-off groups.

What are you doing with what you know about banners?  Love ya!

David S
Worship in the Streets of Sydney

by Adel Moussa, Sydney, Australia.

My name is Adel Moussa and I now live in Sydney, Australia.

I grew up a very religious Muslim, born in Egypt and working in Kuwait. I hated music and all non-muslims for many, many years.

I accept Christ as my saviour in 2006 and have been learning the word of God with love. My Lord Jesus filled me with His Holy Spirit and set me free to love all nations, especially the people I hated before, like the Jews.  Now I pray for them and bless them and join with many messianic groups to worship the Lord.

As I grew in my faith I always had problems with traditional ways of worshiping God.  One day I heard the Lord's voice and I saw Him in the clouds.  I saw all heaven's angels rejoicing, each one singing his own song from his heart.  All of them were in harmony with great joy. Since that day I have been following the Spirit in worship.

There are places in Sydney full of Muslims and I do outreach there, sharing the gospel.  I use Out of Our Minds Banners as part of the outreach.  I use "The Nations Aflame,"  "Purity," and "Peace" and printed banners about world peace.  Many people come and participate.  They love the style of the banners and I am able to remind them that we all one family from Adam and Eve.  My purpose is to help them to live happily and rejoicing with Jesus' love.

At the Easter parade in Sydney this month I had a wonderful day.  I took many banners of different designs and they were being used with dancing and joy .
At the Sydney Easter parade

I arrived at the gathering point early before everyone else arrived and starting to declare the verses that were expressed in the banners.

I used the banners "The Blood of Jesus," "The Nations Aflame,"  "Joy,"  "The Lion of Judah," and "The Promises."  I also used my custom banner of "Noah's Rainbow with a Dove."

I raised the banners in worship to the Lord with a free spirit.  I asked that His Spirit would hover all over Australia with His peace and the Holy Spirit.  I also used "The Great South Land of the Holy Spirit."

I was alone with many banners, but God sent me people, many people I didn't know, and we worshipped together and rejoiced in our Lord.

I declared from Deuteronomy 28:47 that we needed to be obedient and serve the Lord with joy and glad hearts lest evil things come against us.  I declared that even when we find ourselves in difficult circumstances we need to rejoice, just as Paul wrote to Philip - rejoicing even though he was imprisoned.

As we worshipped before and during the Easter March in Sydney I felt the Holy Spirit set many people free.
