HAPPY 4th of JULY! This is a time to celebrate our independence culturally, patriotically and personally. America celebrates its July Cancer Birthday with fireworks and waterworks.
The planetary energies of Neptune in Pisces, Saturn in Scorpio, Jupiter in Cancer and the Sun in Cancer brings in the watery aspect to July. Water signs in general, take us to the inside of our personalities, our emotions and to our sense of psychological security.
Mercury retrograde lasts through July, also in Cancer, with symptoms of missed connections and mechanical breakdowns. Happily, Mercury goes direct on July 20th.
July will be a reflective time to use meditation to find answers when simple logic is not enough. We are encouraged to search within for more soulful approaches to our questions, thoughts of life change, core issues and relationships.

MIND: Gratitude Makes us Joyful
Brene Brown, is a researcher of "Joy". She has interviewed those who are joyful and those who are not. She determined, Joy does not make us grateful. It is gratitude that makes us joyful.
Brene says it is important for us to have a daily gratitude practice. Practicing gratitude connects us to the sacred, spirit and the universe.

BODY: Teeth and Meridians
After having a tooth extracted, my acupuncturist asked if I was having digestive problems. I was. He told me meridians (lines of energy) connect the teeth with other areas of the body.
I investigated further and found a chart on the internet connecting each tooth placement with meridians, organs, and glands. My lost tooth and the infection related to my ileocecal valve and large intestine. Definitely digestion.
Do dentists know this? I assume not. Chinese Medicine has been around for 3000 years, much longer than modern dentistry. If interested, here is a link to the Tooth Meridian website.

SPIRIT: Soul Decisions are Joyful
Recently, I heard a story of a woman who decided she wanted a baby. She was 45 years old, at the time. Her husband was not interested in a baby or adoption. She didn't have much money. Her soul urged her to act and adopt a baby, which she did. Her baby girl came from a foreign country. Along with the baby, money came, a new job came and great joy came. Her daughter is her soul mate. Her soul knew and
pushed her to let go of her fears and take action.
To make soul decisions, John Holland suggests checking in with your intuition before you move forward. Your soul knows what it needs to grow, even if there is a of fear of change.
Go into meditation, bring your breathing and awareness into your solar plexus area. Ask your soul about a specific issue. Asking before acting will increase the odds of making a proper choice.

Laura says: Ask if the issue is to be resolved now or at a later time. Repeat questioning until clarity is achieved and moving ahead feels right.
Moving forward means moving toward JOY.
