Welcome to Metropolitan Interiors

Greetings,

Happy New Year! My 2014 is off to a busy start, how about you? I have travel plans, and am looking forward to new discoveries I can share with you from my trips. First off, this month I'm headed to World Market in Las Vegas with my design associate Margie. It's always thrilling to see the latest interior design innovations, products, fun furnishings and art. Make sure to "like" our Facebook page so you can be in on all the excitement, and get some ideas for your own home.

This February I'm going to Israel, where I'll have the good fortune of interviewing Udi Meroz, an amazing artist and contemporary Israeli art dealer, and visiting his Blue and White Galleries. Watch in April's newsletter for my photos and story from that trip. This Spring I'm heading to Laguna Beach again (one of my favorite places!), to continue design work on the condo there - more on that to come too.

But before all that, I'm looking forward to an event right here at home, Arts & Tarts (for Generous Hearts). If you're passionate about art, and local art, like I am, you'll want to join us. I'll be sending you more info soon, but meanwhile you can find the details here

Stay warm, and stay in touch - let us know how we can help you change your space to change your life.

Julie Ann Fall 2013Warmest Regards,

BEFORE & AFTER
Spacious Home Office
Home Office - BEFORE

Home Office - BEFORE

This home office felt heavy and cramped - too many large pieces and clutter created a feeling of overwhelm. Since my client Mary Beth works full time from home, we needed to make it a place where she could be productive, and feel good about being in for long periods of time.

"I absolutely love my new office! It says something about me and who I am".

Working With an Interior Designer
 3 Common Misconceptions
By Julie Ann Segal

When the time comes to update a few things around the house - light fixtures, furniture, paint colors for example, or to redecorate entire rooms, many people start off on the DIY, or Do-It-Yourself route.

Working with an Interior Designer on their project might not be something they consider right away because of the following common misconceptions.

But truly, DIY is not for everyone. Here I'll give you the facts, gleaned from my over 25 years as an Interior Designer, and show you how hiring a designer can actually be easier on you and your wallet. Read More
