Creating value for Nebraska's career education system

It is surprising how quickly the seasons change in Nebraska. Traveling Interstate 80 last week, I noticed the fields turning already. Is it possible?

PFI has been involved in working with the Department of Education Career Education Office on updates to reVISION, keeping up with LR296 and processing professional development opportunities from this summer and coming fall activities.

If you are not currently aware, I will be taking maternity leave the months of October and November. I will be back on board, fully, the first part of December.  My "out of office" email assistant will indicate when I am off and coming back to work part-time and full-time.

If you need immediate assistance while I am away, please contact Rich Katt at 402-471-4808 or rich.katt@nebraska.gov.
The H3 Website Tutorial is on currently posted on YouTube. The purpose of the video is to provide a step-by-step training on the functionality of the website. The tutorial is 12 minutes long.
Professional Development External Funding Applications Open until January 31, 2014
If you are interested in working collaboratively across the state, have we got an opportunity for you!

The Partnerships for Innovation Leadership Council provides consortia members the opportunity to apply for funding opportunities. Applications should support statewide innovative programming and opportunities for Career Technical Education. Applications are due by January 31, 2014 for funding from July 1, 2014 - December 31, 2015. This 18 month funding cycle provides consortia the time to implement meaningful opportunities for secondary and  community college Nebraska educators, staff and students. Click here for the  application, directions, rubric and timeline.  Questions may be directed to  Erika Volker.
A repository of leadership resources is available to the PFI Nation for your use.  Leadership Now! is a year long leadership development process that community college administrators and faculty have the opportunity to participate in. While it was designed for colleges, it is applicable to leadership in any organization.  Most of the resources used in the seminars are available for your use.  Check them out today!

About Us

Partnerships for Innovation (PFI)  is a collaboration of Nebraska secondary and postsecondary partners focused on building a better statewide system of Career and Technical Education to improve student learning and better meet economic development priorities. PFI will do this by introducing innovation in CTE delivery systems to include Career Academies, professional development and programs of study with coordinated curriculum between secondary and postsecondary.

If you would like assistance on implementing these initiatives in your community, please contact us. Erika Volker will be on maternity leave for the month of October and most of November. If you need immediate assistance during this time, please contact Rich Katt at 402.471.4808 or by email. Thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,
