Creating value for Nebraska's career education system

Greetings!

Welcome back to a bright and shiny new school year! There is always a great deal of excitement surrounding a new school year - new opportunities, new students, new staff, and reconnecting with those who are near and dear.

Partnerships for Innovation was busy this summer with: professional development activities, wrapping up the course standards writing for FCS, AFNR and STS; and Career Academy rule development.

This fall, PFI is partially funding the Fall Workshops, if you have the opportunity we strongly encourage you to attend one in your area. The BMIT and FCS workshop locations and registration can be found here.  A complete list of the AFNR workshops will be finalized by the end of August and information can be found hereFor information about the STS workshops click here

PFI is excited about a new round of reVISION workshops for the 2013-14 school year. Applications for this year closed August 1, however, it's not too late to start planning for next year!  To learn more about reVISION, watch the short 7 minute video

If PFI can be of service to you or your institution, please do not hesitate to contact us

Nebraska Career Connections

The Partnerships for Innovation has transferred the Nebraska Career Connections maintenance contract with Kuder, Inc. to the Educational Service Unit Coordinating Council as of August 1, 2013.   We would like to assure you that you will not experience any interruption in service.

The ESU CC is working on developing a strategic professional development process for those educators and service providers who may need intensive training. If you would like training made available in your region for spring 2014 dates please contact the ESU CC.  Free online training is still available through Nebraska Career Connections, courtesy of  Kuder University.

Kuder University is an instant support hub for accessing a variety of information related to the system! Available 24/7, watch instructional videos on how to utilize various system features, how to manage accounts, learn about different Administrative System capabilities, and more, as well as listen to videos to receive a high-level overview about what your system offers.   Access Kuder University by logging in to your Administrative account and locating the logo at the bottom of the Home tab.

For customer service needs, such as Activation Codes, access to the system, usernames and passwords, etc., please email Charlie Winterboer or by phone at 877.999.6227.

The Partnerships for Innovation will provide partial financial system support this year and will keep the supporting materials on the PFI website for your schools' use here.

We are always looking for ways to encourage more school leaders to utilize this system, if you have any ideas or suggestions for improvement of these tools please send us an email.  Thank you again for your commitment to young people and for exposing them to a life filled with potential for a successful career!

About Us

Partnerships for Innovation (PFI)  is a collaboration of Nebraska secondary and postsecondary partners focused on building a better statewide system of Career and Technical Education to improve student learning and better meet economic development priorities. PFI will do this by introducing innovation in CTE delivery systems to include Career Academies, professional development and programs of study with coordinated curriculum between secondary and postsecondary.

If you would like assistance on implementing these initiatives in your community, please contact us.

I will be on maternity leave the first part of October through the end of November. If you need immediate assistance, please contact Rich Katt at rich.katt@nebraska.gov or 402-471-4808.

Sincerely,
