Share your Creative Community Initiative

CultureCount highlights the organizations and individuals of New England's creative economy, but we know there are a lot of creative place-making projects happening around the region! If you are involved in community development that leverages arts and culture, you are invited to share your community initiatives on NEFA's website. Help grow and support New England's creative economy by sharing your project's action steps, goals, and challenges.

3 Ways the NEA is Supporting New England's Creative Economy |
- Arts in the GDP: For the first time the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) will measure the contribution of the arts to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The BEA is partnering with the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to develop an "Arts and Cultural Production Satellite Account" (ACPSA) to measure the American creative sector on a macroeconomic level.
- "How Art Works": The NEA Office of Research & Analysis released its five-year agenda, which is framed and informed by a groundbreaking "system map" and measurement model.
- 2013 Our Town Grant Application: Organizations may apply for creative placemaking projects that contribute to the livability of communities and place the arts at their core. Deadline: January 14, 2013.

Congratulations to Nella Young, NEFA's New England Services Coordinator, on her new role at Enterprise Community Partners, where she will be running a fellowship program that pairs architects with community development organizations. Nella expressed that it has been a pleasure getting to know the people behind New England's creative economy, and offered her email nella.m.young@gmail.com to those who would like to keep in touch. We hope to see Nella at the 2013 CCX!
