Riding a bike is a sure way to fire up your appetite! Join Jesse Gant and Nick Hoffman, the co-authors of Wheel Fever: How Wisconsin Became a Great Bicycling State, as they take guests on a culinary tour of Wisconsin's bicycling history. Beginning at 5:30, guests of the event will have a chance to privately view "Shifting Gears" with Nick Hoffman, co-curator of the exhibit. After viewing the exhibit, ride with Jesse and Nick all the way back to the late 1860s, when "Velocipede Mania" first seized Wisconsin residents. Travel forward through the bicycling-friendly restaurants, hotels, and clubhouses that have populated nearly 150 years of state history. Along the way, learn how wheelmen and wheelwomen helped prepare the foundations for a great bicycling state. A themed dinner will accompany the presentation.
This event is in conjunction with the Wisconsin Historical Museum's exhibition
