Springtime at Old World Wisconsin
Weekends in May, Then Memorial Day-June 14
PLUS: Mother's Day Brunch May 10
|
Eagle, Wis.--Old World Wisconsin opens for the 2015 season May 2 with Springtime at Old World Wisconsin, an opportunity for 21st-century guests to experience the many ways 19th-century farmers and village folks prepared for the agricultural growing season.
Guests can help in the homesteads and on farmsteads--polishing cast iron stoves, broadcasting seed, helping plant a kitchen garden, hauling water and helping with cooking (and sampling) seasonal historic recipes, and more.
Later in the month, the regional history attraction's oxen team will be used to pick rocks and members of the Jefferson County Draft Horse Association will help with plowing and planting duties. Guests should check the website as activities change through the run of the event. Springtime at Old World Wisconsin kicks off with sheep shearing and more May 2-3.
