I'm afraid we're starting 2014 off with very sad news, the loss of our friend and colleague, Larry Walck. While many of you may have heard the news by now, we've included more info below. We ask that you keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

7 Uses for FDM
It is with deep sadness that we announce the untimely death of Larry Walck, director, business development, Mack Molding. Just 45 years old, he passed away early Saturday morning, January 11, following a tragic sledding accident at Stratton Mountain Resort, Stratton, Vt. "Larry was a wonderful friend and a tremendous co-worker to all of us at Mack," says Jeff Somple, president, Mack Molding Northern Operations. Holiday Tree Lighting at MackMack is barreling toward its centennial anniversary in a growth mode, adding technology, locations, services, markets and people. Stryker Orthopaedics recently invited Dwalin DeBoer and staff to a Voice of Customer event at the Homer Stryker Center, where they had the opportunity to hear firsthand feedback from a number of orthopedic surgeons in attendance.

Congratulations to all employees at the Arlington Plant for achieving 909 days without a lost-time accident! They have beaten the previous record of 638 days, held by the Headquarters Plant. And that's really saying something given their large-part focus. KUDOS!!

Over 90 students and staff from three area high schools attended Mack's inaugural 'Made in Vermont' days this fall. Later this month, many will return for follow-up workshops in specific areas of interest, including engineering, molding, manufacturing, machining, sheet metal and office/admin.
