Teen Programming at TCR

We're excited to introduce our expanded Teen Program!

Coming up first, we have a couple of events designed to welcome back teens who were in programs at the The Children's Room years ago or those who have never been here before.

Any teens, ages 13-18 years old, who have ever experienced the death of an immediate family member are welcome.

Teens may attend either or both events.

Teen Open House

First Timers' Event
Monday, April 13th
6:30 - 8pm

Monday, April 27th
6:30 - 8:30pm

Bring your parent or guardian
and drop in to have some snacks, meet TCR alumni and our teen programming coordinators, and learn about upcoming events.

Join us for pizza and social activities to get to know other teens who are new to

The Children's Room.

This is a great opportunity for teens to check us out and meet others
who are visiting TCR for the first time - no commitment needed!

Please RSVP for either event to Christine@childrensroom.org or 781-641-4741 ext. 214.
We will be in touch to receive basic registration information.

We have even more exciting events taking place in the coming months
that will be open to teens (ages 13-18) who are currently involved in TCR programs,
have been involved in the past, or are new to The Children's Room.

Look out for more information in our April newsletter!

Thank you to Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots,
for generously underwriting our expanded teen programming.

Workshop: Crisis Response Planning

Monday, April 13
9am - 4pm

The best time to decide how to respond to a crisis is before one happens. This interactive workshop will focus on creating a 'crisis' or 'caring' team and a plan of action.

Empower your community and create a physically and emotionally safe environment that provides support to children and adults facing a crisis involving loss.

Boston Marathon Runner Spotlight

Marathon Monday is 3 weeks away!

Learn more about our 6 Marathon runners and help them reach their fundraising goals.

This month we're spotlighting the following runners:

2015 Boston Marathon
Sarah is running in memory of her husband's older brother, Michael.

"As I continue to train through the months of cold days and even longer runs, all the people who have had someone in their lives who has lost someone will be running through my mind.

My husband will be training with me, knowing that my race will be helping the healing process for many others."

2015 Boston Marathon
Deana is running in memory of her husband, Sean. This is her 2nd year running the Boston Marathon for TCR.

"I knew TCR would be a place where we would be understood without words, a place where you could cry, be angry, vent - and believe it or not - laugh!  A place where everyone just 'gets' you the way you are.

It has been so beneficial for me and most importantly my children who get to interact with other children who have suffered the same devastating loss."

Grief in the News

Roberta Levine Waters

"There are no appropriate words; nothing you can say will make it better. But your calls, your visits, your invitations all mean a lot to me. They remind me I am still alive and still have a life outside this tragedy."
