Coping with grief during the holidays

Navigating the holiday season can feel overwhelming, especially if you are grieving the loss of an important person in your life.

Different holiday activities, decorations, and foods may remind you of the person who died and how things will be different without them.

The anticipation of the day may be more difficult than the day itself. Having a plan ahead of time can help ease some of the anxiety and fear of the unknown.

Children's Grief Awareness Day
TOMORROW - Thursday, November 20

Children's Grief Awareness Day is observed every year on the Thursday before Thanksgiving.

This time of year is particularly appropriate because the holiday season can be an especially difficult time after a death.

In addition to inviting families to participate in a community Grief Awareness activity in our Arlington center, TCR will also be out in the community tomorrow providing information about children's grief and services offered by The Children's Room.

We will be sharing photos and messages on social media from children and teens who are the experts on their own grief and loss experiences. Join us on Facebook and Twitter, and help show grieving children and teens that they are not alone.

Our Heartfelt Thanks

With Thanksgiving approaching, we want to take a moment to thank YOU for supporting the vital mission of The Children's Room.

We rely on our generous donors and volunteers to provide hope-giving programs, free of charge, to grieving families.

The Children's Room has partnered with Donate for Charity to make it fast and easy to donate your old vehicle to TCR. Your vehicle will be picked up - free of charge! - from anywhere and TCR will receive a donation in the amount of the vehicle's value.
