It's time for the 4th annual Gleason Lake Twins Outing!
Your entire family is invited to take advantage of the tickets being offered to families and staff of Gleason Lake Elementary. Tickets to Twins games at Target Field are very hard to come by and purchasing your tickets through Gleason Lake is one of the most affordable ways to see a Twins game. Gleason Lake families and staff can purchase Twins tickets for just $25.00 each, and this year our tickets are located in the Twins Family Section. Each ticket also includes a hot dog and a drink.
Gleason Lake Elementary night at Target Field will be on Sunday, May 18th at 1:10 pm when the Twins play the Mariners. Let's all take this great opportunity for our community to get together outside of school, have fun, meet other Gleason Lake families, and cheer for the Minnesota Twins!
To join us on this special night, please click here to print and fill out the order form and return it to the office with a check made out to Gleason Lake PTO. All orders turned in before Spring Break will be entered into a drawing for a 12" Joe Mauer Bleacher Creature Plush Toy!!
We look forward to seeing you at the game!

District Employee of the Month
|
Gleason Lake Elementary is proud to recommend Jeff Soukup as the March Employee of the Month. Jeff has been with the district for the past eight years and during this time he spent two years teaching second grade and the past six years in fifth grade. Jeff is an enthusiastic and determined educator who has been instrumental in integrating technology into various content areas. He continually encourages technology advances and willingly provides support, leadership and direction. His passion and desire to expand his knowledge and leadership skills are always at the forefront of his professional decisions. All students and staff truly benefit from his knowledge and expertise. As you walk by Jeff's classroom, the students are energized and engaged in personalized learning activities.
Jeff's commitment to Gleason Lake reaches beyond his classroom. He has a leading role on multiple professional committees and works daily to make Gleason Lake a better place for both students and staff. Jeff is a member of the district MyWay Leadership team and has taught three technology academy classes. His committed leadership and guidance is evident and greatly appreciated. Jeff will be recognized at the March 10th school board meeting.

Kids in the morning choir should report to the music room at 6:00 and the other students should report to their homerooms at 6:15.

Spring Conference Scheduling
|
Gleason Lake is using "Pick-a-Time" to schedule our spring conferences. "Pick-a-Time" is open until March 14. Click here to download the "Pick-a-Time" family instructions, or click here to access the "Pick-a-Time" web site to start scheduling. Please note that conferences will be held from 4-8 on Thursday, March 20, 4-8 on Wednesday, March 26 and 8-4 on Thursday, March 27. We look forward to having all parents attend conferences during these scheduled dates. If you are unable to attend conferences, please feel free to contact your child's teacher and arrange for a phone conference. Please be aware that two-home families can sign up only once (first come, first serve) for ONE conference, unless you call Andrew Hagen (763-745-5112) in our tech office to add another sign up time for that particular student on the sign up conference web page. It is encouraged to mutually agree upon one conference time and have both parents come to the conference. One of the features in our online scheduling program is the ability to automatically send out a 'reminder email' of your scheduled conference time, but the system is linked to whatever email you have in Skyward. In an effort to make sure that system has your preferred email, please log in to Skyward and check that you have an email listed that you check on a regular basis and please update if needed by February 14. Also as an FYI, the online conferencing system is currently set up to send only one email reminder per family. Thank you for your help in this process.

Thank you Gleason Lake students and families for your amazing participation in February Fitness Fever. Over 225 Fitness Fever calendars were turned in at the end of the month! For the first time ever, there was a 3 way tie for the classroom with the highest percentage of calendars returned to the P.E. staff! The winning classes are Ms. Haight (2nd grade), Ms. Rehnke (2nd grade), & Ms. Nelsen (4th grade)! Each of these classes will receive an extra 30 minutes of physical education at the end of a school day! Congratulations to all students and families who participated in this fun event. Congratulations also to 5th graders James E, Joe F, and Alan K from Mrs. Bjerk's room on designing the winning Fitness Fever Website, The Rainbow Veggies. The 2nd-4th graders voted this the top website in this year's annual technology competition. Thanks for your assistance in partnering together to help build students who are active and healthy for LIFE! Gleason Lake Physical Education Specialists,
Teresa Thour and Sheila Schultz
