DMDO Speaker Profile:   Meet Pen Carroll
Marketing Manager at Birdsnest

Pen is the head of marketing at birdsnest.com.au, where she leads her team in striving to 'save the world from impersonal communication'. Pen has been a birdsnest girl since 2008, when the women's online fashion retailer operated out of a tiny room in a shop in Cooma, a country town of 8000 people. Birdsnest has grown to employ more than 100 'birds', has delivered women's fashion all over the world, and has since moved out of the tiny room (albeit just up the road!) Pen is passionate about delivering marketing that is personalised and inspiring.

You can hear from Pen first hand at the DMDO on 27 May 2015.. But hurry Earlybird tickets only available until 24 April!

The power of a word...
In NAB's March edition of Health View, we hear from Vince Frost, sharing his views about the power of a word..: "yes". Vince shares: "To me 'yes' has always symbolised openness, excitement and positivity while 'no' suggests a closed mind," he says. "That doesn't mean I say 'yes' to everything that comes along. It's more about building a culture where everyone is open to change and unforeseen opportunities." Vince is convinced that this one word has lead to the success of his business. What impact do your words have on your business?.. Read full article

On another note, March 25th saw "Julie Bishop launch the 2014 Australia-China Trade Report. Commissioned by the Australia China Business Council (ACBC), one of Australia's most respected China engagement forums and sponsored by NAB, the report examines bilateral trade between the two countries. The 2014 Australia-China Trade Report shows 49% of respondents increased their profits from China related business activities in the last year." Read more here
