We want to provide support in your time of need!
Current health regulations prohibit the clergy from being informed when our parishioners are in the hospital, so we will not know if you or someone you love is there unless you tell us. We want to provide support in any time of need or crisis.

Sunday's Scripture Snippet
You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.

"Listen Listen, Love Love"
"Listen Listen, Love Love": This is the motto for the international Kairos ministry that serves incarcerated men and women. One SJE parishioner is serving on a women's team to Hernando Correctional February 27 through March 2. The placemats pictured, which are used for every meal, were lovingly drawn by our Sunday School children and our Youth Confirmation class.
We invite your prayers for the team during the February/March weekend, and need donations of store-bought cookies (no powdered sugar, sprinkles, or fruit, please). Please bring the cookies to the parish offices by Sunday, February 23. Contact MC Jenkins at BucsJenkins@aol.com with any questions. Thank you!

Annual Choir Benefit Concert
St. John's Choir will present their Annual Benefit Concert in the Church on Sunday, February 23 at 5:00 p.m. Central to the program will be Benjamin Britten's cantata "Rejoice in the Lamb." Composed by Britten in 1943 and based on the poem Jubilate Agno by Christopher Smart (1722-1771), the text was written while Smart, who was of unbalanced mind, was in an asylum, and depicts idiosyncratic praise and worship of God by all created beings and things, each in its own way. The work is scored for four soloists, choir, and organ. Simon Morley directs the choir, with guest organist Simon Jacobs making a return visit to St. John's to accompany. The concert is free and open to the public. A reception, to which all are warmly invited, will follow in the Parish Hall.

Choral Evensong

Join us as the St. John's School Middle Division Choir leads us in traditional choral evening prayer. An important service in the Anglican tradition since the sixteenth century, Evensong is sung daily in English Cathedrals and Collegiate Chapels at the close of day. Two lessons from scripture are read, prayers are said and sung, and the choir offers psalms, canticles and an anthem.
