Success in the Dominican Republic:
Work Continues on Santa Cruz Episcopal Church in Santa Fe at the edge of the city of San Pedro de Macorís
Our parishioners on Teams II and III made it back safe and sound from the Dominican Republic, having survived the heat and the rigorous construction schedule. The teams worked to place and tie rebar above the second story ceiling in preparation for the pouring of concrete on the roof of the Santa Cruz Episcopal Church in Santa Fe at the edge of the city of San Pedro de Macorís. Other tasks included moving clay and materials to help prepare the first floor, and painting classrooms at the Santa Cruz Episcopal School across the street. Team members also shared fellowship with the people of Santa Fe, and prayed for the success of the project and the health and safety of the people they are helping to serve. Thank you to all the St. John's parishioners who gave their time and hard work to the cause: Team III members Carol Ihrig and Sally Thompson; Team II Leader Bill Hardy; and Team II members Parker Adair, Leland Baldwin, Baldwin Barnes, Cary Brown, Sr., Cary Brown, Jr., Regine Gordon, Lorien Johnson, Will Johnson, Katherine T urk, and A.J.Valdes.

A Prayer for Our Country
Almighty God, who has given us this good land for our
heritage:
We humbly beseech you that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of your favor and glad to do your will. Bless our land with honorable industry, sound learning, and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion; from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people the multitudes brought hither out of many kindreds and tongues. Endue with the spirit of wisdom those to whom in your Name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that, through obedience to your law, we may show forth your praise among the nations of the earth.
In the time of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness,
and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in you to fail;
all which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
