New Interim Youth Director and Interim Assistant to the Chaplain Named
As we say goodbye to Mother Stefanie Taylor, we are pleased to announce that Miranda Harrison-Quillin has accepted the position of Interim Youth Director and Interim Assistant to the Chaplain to the school. Miranda will begin work with us on August 12. Miranda was born in Germany as her parents were stationed there as Army officers. She is an alumna of St. John's School, as well as of Tampa Prep and Florida State University. Her favorite memories at St. John's are of being in the theater performances each year, and she credits them with sparking her love of Broadway. She is a graduate of Duke Divinity School, receiving her Master's of Divinity there. She is currently serving as a Chaplain Resident at Tampa General Hospital, where she provided for the emotional and spiritual needs of patients, visitors, and staff. She also developed curriculum for youth at Hyde Park United Methodist Church in Tampa, her home church, putting to work her passion for leading, challenging, and encouraging students of all ages. Miranda says of her appointment "I am excited about working with the youth and young adults of St. John's as we live the life of faith together." Welcome, Miranda!

What's Your Ebenezer Story?
In his sermon on Sunday, June 9, Fr. Doug Zimmerman encouraged the congregation to share their "Ebenezer Moments" with each other. What works is God doing in your life right now that you think He is calling you to reveal?
Literally speaking, an Ebenezer is a "stone of help," or a reminder of God's real, holy presence and divine aid. An Ebenezer stands in witness of what God has done or is doing. Where do you see God's presence and help? Don't neglect the "little nudges" or the obvious action of the Lord - keep watch and then share - bear witness to what God is doing here in the life of St. John's. If God is "Almighty and Everliving" (and yes, He is!), we can expect to encounter Him in each and any moment. He may speak to you through the Bible, the Sacraments, a friend or stranger; perhaps in your time of trouble or of celebration. God's real presence and God's assistance are opportunities for us to raise our own "Ebenezers."
What was your Ebenezer moment this week? Email them to parish@stjohnstampa.org.
