lilly Holy Week and Easter Schedule
There are many events and services during the weeks leading up to and following Easter.  Please click here to go to our website for a full schedule, click here to download a printable PDF, or see below for details on the rest of the week's services and activities.

Please also join us tomorrow for the annual Maundy Thursday Vigil.  The night begins on Thursday, March 28, at 8:00 p.m., immediately following the Maundy Thursday service, with devotions for the close of day.  The Vigil ends at 7:00 a.m. on Good Friday with Morning Prayer and Communion from the Reserved Sacrament.  We are looking for volunteers to participate in the Vigil, which will take place in the chapel Each volunteer will be responsible for an assigned reading(s) during one hour of the Vigil.  If you are interested in participating, please contact Nicholas Nitch at nnitch@tampabay.rr.com and let him know which hour you would like to sign up for. Easter Reception Food Needed
If you are able to contribute a tasty dish for our Easter reception following the 9:00 a.m. services, please bring plated, ready-to-serve finger food to the Garth by 8:45 a.m. With your help, we can make our reception terrific!  Questions?  Call Ginny VanOsdol at 377.9523.
Flowering the Cross
One of our most beloved Easter traditions is flowering the Easter cross  in the Garth before the 9:00 a.m. services on Easter Sunday.  Please bring a few flowers from your garden or your local store to beautify the cross and glorify the risen Lord!
Parish Picnic and Combined Services
On Sunday, April 7, we will combine the 9:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services into one 10:00 a.m. service, with the annual Parish Picnic immediately following.  Please mark your calendars, bring a covered dish to share, and plan to join us!  St. John's will provide the main course and dessert.  For more information, contact Leland Baldwin, Director of Christian Education.
VBS 2013
Vacation Bible School for 2013 will take place July 22 through 25, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, for ages 3 to 10.  Volunteers are needed, if you can help or if you have questions, please contact Leland Baldwin, Director of Christian Education.

Your Action Needed

It's Not Too Late to Help with our Annual Egg Hunt! 

Please bring 24 filled Easter eggs to the parish offices before Easter Sunday morning so they can be hidden for our littlest church-goers to find. 

Youth group aged children are also needed to help hide eggs on Easter morning.  If you would like to help, please meet at Discovery House at 8:00 a.m.  Questions? Please contact Leland Baldwin.

Candle and Flowers Available 

The candle in the sanctuary light is available on the following Sundays:  April 21, April 28, May 5, May 12, and May 19.  The flowers in the chapel are available on Sunday, April 7, and the flowers at the church altar are available on Sunday, May 19. If you are interested, please contact the parish offices at parish@stjohnstampa.org, or by calling 259.1570.

2013 Every Member Canvass  

The end of the calendar year marks the Every Member Canvass campaign for St. John's Church.  Please prayerfully consider what you can contribute this year for the glory of God and the support of St. John's.  Please click here to read Fr. Women's Mid Morning Bible Study (Lowry Room)

The group invites all St. John's women and their friends to join them on Tuesday, April 2, beginning at 10:15 a.m. as the Rev. Alan Beaver facilitates their study of the parable of "The Laborers in the Vineyard" (Matt 20:1-16).

Celebratio 2013
St. John's School Parents' Club cordially invites you to save the date for the biggest annual fundraiser of the school year, Celebratio!  This year's theme is Havana Nights, and the festive event will be held at Tampa Yacht and Country Club.  Food, drinks, a live band, and amazing live and silent auctions will highlight the evening, as we raise money for St. John's School so that our School can continue to provide a superior education within a nurturing Christian environment to nearly 600 students in grades K(4) through 8.
