ALIWAL 24-27 APRIL

Long Weekend getaway... Who says no to that?

Get away from the rat race of Jo'burg and join us on a trip to the newly renovated luxurious old stylish hotel, BLUE OCEAN DIVE RESORT, located in the quaint little diving village of Umkomaas on the

Kwa-Zulu Natal South Coast, South Africa. Other than that, The Aliwal Shoal is a rocky reef which is the remains of an ancient fossilized sand dune which is approximately 5 km off the coast.

INTERN DIARIES
We arrived in Mozambique with a long convoy of, roaring, 4x4's and women. We could hardly hear   each other over the whining of the women but we pushed on. We soon pulled in to camp and the women calmed down as we started unpacking, we took over so fast, just goes to show the power we as Scubaversity have with regards to taking over, The heat was excruciating and the loud buzz of the cicada beetles, we soon gathered everyone on the 4x4's and we headed off to a bar, called 360, on the top of a mountain to watch the sunset. What a mighty fine sunset it was everyone was in good spirits thanks to the local RnR that put Mozam on the map. All in all it was a lekker day for all... Read More

TESTIMONIAL FROM NANETTE REIMERS

Dear Mandy

I have to ask, did you adjust my BCD or my mind during the PPB course on Saturday, because  everything you taught me just came together on the night dive :))

I buddied with Eddie and knew he would look after me, so was very relaxed.  At some point, I realised that I was "gliding effortlessly" with tiny sculling movements every now and then .....    and was so close to the bottom that I could easily get a good look at the tiny slugs, etc.  without disturbing the bottom. The dive was so awesome I couldn't fall asleep that night  -  just continued thinking about it with a great big smile...

Furthermore, I believe the magic is here to stay. Nathi and I buddied on a casual dive with the rescue divers on Sunday morning.  We could pivot on one finger or hover close to objects, and our safety stops were good on both dives.

I lost it once and started kicking up silt, but went to the back of the group to relax for a few minutes and get my act together again.   Imagine that - I've learnt to stop the champagne bubbles!!

So, a very sincere thank you for your time, patience and the knowledge you imparted  -  not only regarding practical skills, but also on mindfulness during a dive and how to relax instead of getting frustrated.

I could never have imagined that one course would make such an enormous difference! It only took three days to become a more competent, confident diver.

Love you lots and will show you that perfect hover shortly  :)

Regards

Nanette
