 | CUSTOMER OF THE MONTH

 | |
The July Customer of the Month is Mac Eblen of Cedar Falls. What is your favorite Hansen's product and how do you use it? Each Hansen's product is my favorite whenever I'm eating it.  A soft-serve cone on a summer day, a scoop of ice cream with birthday cake, cream for my first cup of coffee, or cream poured over warm strawberry shortcake.  And then there's Hansen's milk, a wonderful taste from breakfast to bedtime.  If I must choose a favorite, I'll take milk. It comes first, and serves as the base for my other favorites.    Why do you shop at Hansen's? Buying at Hansen's makes me feel good because I'm buying fresh and local. I'm enjoying a delicious product for a fair price while sending my dollars into the local economy. Because Hansen's shares store space with other local producers, I also buy delicious eggs, aged cheese, healthy yogurt, crisp greens, and a variety of veggies and fruits in season (just now, strawberries!). If I want meat, non-confined, hormone- and antibiotic-free chicken and other meats are available. All of this bounty from the hands of local growers within a small radius of Cedar Falls! This fosters a sense of community.   The help in the store make a visit a pleasant time; they are friendly, efficient, and courteous. They create the atmosphere of the neighborhood grocery of my childhood. The final touch is a visit to Hansen's Dairy itself. Meet the people and the cows, each one named.  See the barns and milking parlor, the processing rooms and gleaming equipment. Stand on the land that supports it all. A solid connection with the food that we eat adds both value and delight to meals. Thanks, Mac! Customers of the Month receive a $5 gift certificate to use at our stores, a free hands-on farm tour pass, and a vehicle decal. Make sure to sign up at our stores for your chance to be selected Customer of the Month!    | |

 | CA$H COW
 | |
Congrats to our one $5 winner in the June CA$H COW contest!
Every month we mark several of our gallon milk jugs with either $5 or $100 under the label. It's hard to get the label off cleanly, so the easiest way to check your jug is just finish the milk and look inside at the label. There will either be a "5" or a "100" if you're a winner!

Since no one found a $100 jug last month, we will mark seven jugs marked with $100 in July. Your best chance to find a big winner jug is in the next few days!
There are also 10 jugs EVERY WEEK marked with a $5.00 prize. View details here on our website .   | |

 | New mascot toys are here!

If you come for a Hansen's Dairy tour, you may want to take home one of our mascot toys. These stuffed kangaroos have a cow in their pouch (and come with the baby joey too). The kangaroo also wears a Hansen's Dairy bandana around her neck. They are $7.00 and make a great souvenir! These are available at the Hansen's Tour Center but will be arriving soon to our MooRoo and Outlet stores. ____________________________________________________     |
 | | | The July Cow of the Month is Legend . She had her first calf just after midnight on June 30 - and it was a heifer! Cows have their first calf at 2 years old and then start milking for the first time. Legend is now learning how to navigate the milking parlor with help from her new friends, the other mama cows.
We decided to name her calf "Legendairy," which takes after one of our T-shirt designs for the farm. We always use the same first initial as the mother's name for the baby's name, so this is perfect name for Legend's calf! Maybe we should let Legendairy wear her namesake T-shirt?
