Happy spring! This was the view outside our window on the farm on March 31. April ushers in warmer weather, NCAA Final Four action, the Easter holiday, farmers preparing their land for planting and the opening of our farm tour season. We hope all of our customers have a wonderful month! 

The Cedar Falls Farmer's Market is about to open with some new vendors and new twists.

Where: 3rd and Clay streets in front of City Hall and around Overman Park in Cedar Falls.
When: Every Saturday (except Sturgis Falls weekend) from 8:30 a.m. to noon, rain or shine.
What: Produce (in season), baked goods, popcorn, cut flowers, plants, jewelry, crafts, clothing, honey, and meat (buffalo, Iowa shrimp, pork, lamb, chicken, duck, turkey). Cottonwood Canyon will serve up coffee, breakfast sandwiches and smoothies.

The market will hold a free drawing every Saturday for free shopping bags or a market basket full of goods from the vendors such as baked goods, produce, flowers, and crafts. Register for the free drawings when you come to the market. 

The community tent is available for civic groups to use for free to advertise and hand out information. So far, Altrusa, Master Gardeners, the Hearst Center, the Humane Society, belly dancers, a massage therapist, and the Waterloo Bucks are all signed up to be at the market.

Hansen's Outlet and Moo Roo are currently taking orders for Hansen Hams. These are cured, certified White Hickory-smoked, skinless, shankless hams. (They are delicious!)
