With so much focus on each patient, it may be difficult to keep track of the business side of your manual therapy practice. In fact, quite a few manual therapists enter this field with little knowledge about business, and little desire to concentrate on basic business concepts.
One Policy Covers All:
~ Lymphatic Drainage Therapy ~ CranioSacral Therapy ~ Visceral Manipulation ~ Neural Manipulation ~ Muscle Energy Technique ...plus over 350 other Massage and
Bodyworker Modalities at No Additional Cost!

New Book Coming Soon...
Understanding Messages of Your Joints
by Jean-Pierre Barral, DO, MRO(F), PT
This new book is the companion to Understanding Messages of Your Body and will be released in Summer 2014.
Did you know that hip pain can be linked to an unwanted move, a lack of familial attachment or a fear of change...?
It is not entirely by chance that we might have knee, back or neck discomfort. Jean-Pierre Barral arrived at this remarkable conclusion after studying thousands of cases, whereby he established common links between emotions, behavior and joint pain. By being aware of this interdependence, you can help to resolve past and present tensions.
In this book each joint is reviewed in terms of its function and the problems that tend to affect it, including discussion of their causes and ramifications for our physical and mental equilibrium. It explains how to take care of your joints, physically, psychically and emotionally. If you look after your joints, your mind will follow. Similarly, by treating an emotional problem, you can improve joint health.

A Special Perspective
Hello -
I am a newly minted physical therapist and a longtime massage therapist. I was fortunate enough to take VM I and II while in PT school. I have been sadly unable to take III and IV, but have been occasionally practicing with one of the other therapists whom I met during these classes in Brookfield, WI.....
I go through waves of doing GL and LL with the people I am working with. I usually manage to at least listen a little bit on a few people a week, if not actually perform motility or mobility.
I finally received work as a patient the other day, from my friend and colleague, who had just returned from VM IV, reinvigorated. She re-inspired me talking about the work, and her excitement. I asked as many questions as I could!
She listened, and worked with me. I didn't tell her much in advance, except I'd had increasing pain and bloating, etc. blah, blah. She performed some kidney mobility and some phrenic nerve work, as well as some other gentle work at DeMussy's point.

From Manual Evaluation
to General Diagnosis
by Alain Crobier, DO
From Manual Evaluation to General Diagnosis presents a comprehensive guide to osteopathic evaluation and diagnosis before hands-on treatment. Based on Croibier's everyday clinical experience, the book provides an extensive educational framework for the examination of patients in order to determine what the course of treatment should be. As Croibier explains, "an accurate diagnosis is the surest way to devise a truly individualized treatment plan and thereby achieve the best possible results."
Written for manual hands-on therapy students and practitioners, the book provides an in-depth exploration of the osteopathic diagnosis process which aims to identify an abnormality and to discover factors which may be causing the dysfunction. Enhanced with full-color instructional photos and illustrations, the book describes the manual hands-on assessments and general evaluations that lead to a diagnosis.
