Urgent Prayer Request for Bekah Kolstad

January 18, 2015

Dear SOS Family,

Many of you have seen recent updates on Bekah Kolstad, but we wanted to send this out as an urgent prayer request to reach all of the SOS Family. Bekah returned home from Uganda this past December. About two weeks ago, Bekah began experiencing a fever and checked into the emergency room. She was released to home, but had to check herself into ICU on Wednesday, where she remains (at a hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas with her parents). As of right now, she was released from ICU but remains at the hospital under close observation, and the doctors are still not sure what is causing her illness.  She remains very ill. She has not been able to eat for many days, has experienced high fever spikes with corresponding low blood pressure. The doctors have tried many different antibiotics to fight the infection. They administered a new antibiotic today.

Please pray for Bekah -

- for healing
- for her nausea to end so she can keep food down
- for the doctors to discern the specific cause of her illness
- for the new antibiotic to be effective
- for Bekah and family's finances as they cover these expenses
- for Bekah to continue to display the sweet love and trust in our Lord as she has these past years serving SOS in Uganda

Bekah and friends are posting updates on her Facebook page here - https://www.facebook.com/bekah.kolstad

Thank you for your prayers!

Yours in Christ,

Kevin Thomas, on behalf of SOS
