Fall Product Sale Program - Lots of Products, Lots of Fun
GSSEF Fall Product Program - now until November 15
The GSSEF Fall Product Sale Program is well underway! Girls can sell delicious varieties of nuts and candy items and popular magazine subscriptions to anyone - friends, family, neighbors, and teachers, both online and in person. Also this year, girls will be selling Enjoy the City coupon books.

It's a great way for troops to reach new heights and earn money to fund their exciting programs and activities through out the year. The Council's Fall Product Sale Program helps girls develop five key leadership skills: goal-setting, decision making, people skills, money management and business ethics.  Questions? Contact Denise Fiorelli at dfiorelli@gssef.org or 561-427-0180.

Engineering Family Fun Day (EF2D) - November 7
The Southeast Florida Section ( SEFL) of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is co-hosting along with the American Society of Civil Engineers, the 8th annual Engineering Family Fun Day (EF2D) for Palm Beach County students. The purpose of this event is to educate the community on the opportunities available in engineering and inspire an interest in the areas of math and science in young students from elementary to high school levels.

The Engineering Family Fun Day event will be held on November 7 at Dreher Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will involve eight to ten activities that provide hands on learning about engineering and science. Some of the past activities have included lemon battery, bottle rocket design and launch, gum drop dome, water filtration and testing and making polymers.

Additionally, if you are interested in volunteering (this is an excellent opportunity for Girl Scouts interested in volunteering hours), please contact Kim O'Donnell at kim.o'donnell@fpl.com for additional information.

Fish Like a Girl Workshop: Reel Fun
All 38 Girl Scouts that participated in the recent Society of Women Engineers Fish Like a Girl    workshop held at the River Center in Jupiter 'reel-y' had lots of fun! They learned that fishing was more than just a hook, line and sinker through activities that included Fisheries Conservation & Stewardship, Fish Dissection and Go Out and Fish. How cool!

A Bronze Award with a Design: Troop #10274
Shout out to Troop #10274 for earning their Bronze Award! Their Bronze Award project's name was Giving Back to Those Who Give: Child Net. The girls wanted to find an organization that relied on volunteers to make everything happen and decided upon Child Net. Very much like Girl Scouts and their leaders, Child Net would not be able to operate without the commitment of the foster families.

Child Net was in the process of moving to a new location when the troop approached them. The girls met with them to understand the needs of the new space. They advised them that their lobby needed a whole new look and that it was the face of Child Net.

With this information, the troop worked on a lobby design plan for the space to include furniture, wall color, a wood heart-shaped plaque made by the troop and pictures of some of the children that are up for adoption. They also filled  duffle bags with basic necessities to give to the children when they walk through the doors of Child Net and that will go with them to their assigned foster family.

Troop #10274 used every single dollar of proceeds from their Girl Scout Cookie Sale Program to finance this project. Way to go girls!

Membership Database Updates
A new Girl Scout year is underway and we want to be sure we can reach you to share exciting program updates and membership information.

Recent updates to our membership database, e-Council, now require that each record have a birth date, phone number and email address. Now is a great time for Troop Leaders to review the troop roster of registered girls and adults and to confirm all contact information including address, zip code, email, phone, birth date and school information.

Troop Leaders may update the records of the girls and adults registered into their troop by logging into the GSSEF membership database, e-Council, at www4.e-council.net and entering their email ID and password.

Need some help? No problem, we can make the updates for you. To request an update to a membership record, please contact Mileneda Joseph, council registrar, at mjoseph@gssef.org.

Volunteers Needed for Volunteer Weekend 2016 Planning Committee
Volunteer Weekend is returning to Camp Nocatee March 11-13, 2016.  Volunteers at the Survivor-themed 2015 event chose to go Glamping in 2016.  What is Glamping? It's glamorous camping, of course, and we're going to do it Girl Scout-style.  But in order to make this weekend the best yet, we want your input and your help!  If you're interested in joining the planning committee for this sure-to-be fan-tabulous, mah-velous and oh so glamorous event, email Gabriella Gaita at ggaita@gssef.org and let her know you want to join in on the fun. Please respond no later than November 1st so that the glam-planning can begin!
