SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON

FIREARMS TRAINING !

INSIGHT SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT

Dear Fellow Firearms Instructor,

For the record, there are so many myths, and hype regarding firearms training it's hard to tell what's real and what really works. I've been a professional firearms trainer for over 35 years.  I've had the privilege of being a former Law Enforcement Officer, and a Firearms Instructor & General Manager and for Gunsite Training Center, and I feel I can speak with some authority on what really works on the street and in the field.  I would like to make something very clear: " I don't know it all and I don't have all the answers,!" What I am sure of is that we have developed a revolutionary new teaching system that will give anyone the ability to shoot with absolute precision accuracy starting with their very first shots and more importantly the accuracy will transfer the street.

For the Record: The Goal Is NOT To Shoot 1-Hole Groups On The Street.

The goal is to be able to place an accurate shot on demand under extreme conditions. What is an accurate shot? Shooting an accurate shot means that you are able to make a perfect headshot. If you look at the studies on terminal ballistics, the only way you are going to assure a one-shot stop is to get the bullet to midbrain or sever the spinal column. It's important to realize, that now anyone can now buy body armor, so one of the best ways stop a threat "instantly" is to put a bullet in their Snot-Locker. Just punching holes in someone may bleed them out, but can take up to 7 minutes from a major artery.  It's important to realize that it only takes the perpetrator 4 seconds to empty a 15 round 9 mm magazine. That means that if you have the time to pull the trigger, so does the perpetrator. Every time you miss, or fail to get the bullet to the spinal column or midbrain you potentially put your life in jeopardy and you could be sucking up bullets.

Why then, do we at Insight Firearms Training Development feel it's important to shoot with precision accuracy (1-hole groups)?  Because: If you can't put your shot exactly where you want it to go in a sterile controlled environment such as the range in slow fire practice, you've got a snowball's chance in hell of being able to place an accurate shot on the street when somebody's trying to kill you.

If you look at the studies of what creates muscle memory, it's all about myelination.  Myelin is an insulating fiber the wraps around the axons in the brain and creates clear neural connections making up neural pathways that create precise motor movements. It's myelination that creates muscle memory.  Every time you repeat a task, it needs to be done correctly especially during the initial phases of learning. If the shooter is allowed to shoot inaccurately, he's only conditioning inaccuracy! It's perfect practice that gives you perfect performance.

For the Record: The Goal Is to Succeed, Not to Fail.

Success Breeds Success!  We as instructors want to create the belief in our students that they can do it. Once they have that belief; that means they have confidence. Confidence is the motivating factor driving them to want to test their skills in more complex challenges. This doesn't mean that they will never fail or miss, for there is no such thing as failure. There's only feedback!  It's through that feedback, that they learn how to adjust and make corrections in their visual skills, biomechanical skills and more importantly, their ability to control their minds so they can control their emotions. If their emotions are out of control, their visual skills and biomechanical skills are going to be out-of-control. This means that their accuracy is going to be out-of-control.

When we progress into more difficult drills and exercises, one of the things we do to create a positive learning experience is to "give ourselves permission to make a mistake and miss." This becomes extremely important once they develop the skill of shooting with precision accuracy, for there is the tendency to take too much time to release the shot, out of fear of it not being perfect.  By giving "permission to miss", this creates the frame that it's okay to stretch the envelope beyond what they currently believe their level of control is at that point in time. This also gives them the opportunity to learn how to back down a notch, and know what it feels like to gain control and enter the zone of peak performance on demand. It is in creating contrast where the student learns what it feels like to be out-of-control and learns what they have to do with their mind to gain control.  As you know, if you shoot too slow in a gunfight, you are going to get shot!

To assist the student in the learning process in stretching their envelope, we create the context using a story of how professional runners will run downhill to force the synapse in the brain to fire more quickly so that the runner can keep their balance. We then set the frame for the relationship of speed in the brain by creating contrast of what it feels like to drive a car at 90 miles an hour on the highway for a period of time, and then have to slowdown to 55 mph, and what that feels like. This speed and time distortion in the brain takes place because the brain was initially forced to stretch itself beyond its comfort zone, and what became comfortable at a high rate of speed then became uncomfortable at a slower rate of speed. We use reactive pop up / falling plates with limited time exposures of 50/100th of a second to help push the shooter's envelope. This forces the brain to recognize the front sight as a stimulus for a conditioned response on the trigger. Because we've already programmed the proper trigger compression skills, the same muscle fibers will fire, but at a much faster rate allowing the shooter to maintain the same accuracy at reactive speeds. We then take it a step further into force on force engagements.

For the Record: Precision Accuracy Can and Will Transfer to the Street.

If the proper foundation has been set, and the visual, biomechanical, and emotional state related skills have been programmed to the unconscious, we will have created a map in the mind for the body to follow. This entrainment through recursion becomes the deepest and most conditioned map in the brain for the body to follow.  The body will follow that groove much like flowing water will follow the path of the river. One of the necessary components is to generalize the skill into a multitude of contexts by engaging the shooter in different scenarios so the landscape in the mind matches the landscape of the street. By utilizing a progressive methodology that engages the shooter in conditions that simulates the street, we can generalize the context and the skill to achieve peak performance in any environment.

We have found that one of the most powerful ways to do this is to engage in force on force training in combination with a formal hypnotic induction. The key to peak performance is state-based training. It is the power of hypnosis that allows the shooter to create, and manage their emotional state within their imagination that allows the skill to be generalized into any context.  As instructors, we are not always privileged in knowing our students deepest fears and what would create their "hell on the street". Through hypnosis and the use of generalizations, nominalizations, and presuppositions we can linguistically guide our students in trance through this hell and give them the opportunity to emerge victoriously. This creates confidence and a deeper and more powerful learning experience so the skill will transfer to the street and on the field in battle.

I would like to invite you to a once in a lifetime experience:

JOIN OUR

5-Day Advanced Law Enforcement Instructor Course

ON March 28th.  in Prescott Valley AZ

Due to the budget cuts in Law Enforcement, this is the ONLY Law Enforcement Instructor Course we have scheduled in 2011.  (If your agency would like to Host a program at your location then we will make every effort to accommodate you.)

In this exclusive 5-day program, you will discover how to duplicate these results with every officer you teach.  Not only will YOU be shooting with absolute precision accuracy, everyone you teach to shoot will also be shooting all their shots through the same hole instantly.  I know this sounds so bizarre you're probably having a hard time believing it's possible.  That's why we offer a full Money Back Guarantee !

It is imperative we get this new teaching system into the hands of Law Enforcement.  We receive comments all the time on how our civilian students can dramatically outshoot the majority of law enforcement officers with only a few hours of training using this new teaching system.  I don't know about you, but there is something dreadfully wrong with this picture!!!   We need your help in spreading the word and making this accuracy available to EVERY Law Enforcement Officer in this Great Country.  Our Cops are walking targets!  Every time you listen to the news or read the Police One Newsletter there is another Brother or Sister in Blue gunned down.  The stats speak for themselves and nobody seems to be doing anything about it!

WE HAVE AN ANSWER . . . Fight Back and Make Every Bullet that Leaves Your Barrel an Accurate Precision Shot.  As you know, many Bad Guys are now wearing bullet resistant vests.  Take a moment and reflect; Do you want every officer in your department to have the accuracy to make a "GUARANTEED" Head Shot on demand when all hell breaks loose?

 If the answer is "YES"

Enroll Today and They Will . . .Guaranteed !

This is our Promise to You

We are putting the POWER back into the hands of Law Enforcement.  No longer does law enforcement have to be sucking-up bullets because of their accuracy.  With this training, NOW it will suck to be on the receiving end of the barrel of a Cops gun !

What a Chief of Police had to say:
"As the Chief of Police of the Hamburg Police Department in New Jersey I could not recommended this program enough.  As a firearms instructor I learned more in five days than I have learned since I became an instructor in 1995.  I am shooting and instructing at levels that I could only dream of.  As the Chief of Police who is in charge of maintaining a budget this class was tops.  With minimal costs for the class and bullets it can not be beat.  What I noticed most was that students quickly learned the concepts and were able to implement the new skills with minimal rounds.  I shot less than 200 rounds to be proficient in the skills. I will now use the rounds saved to master my skills, not learn them.  I will be sending my instructors to this program as soon as possible."

New York Transit PD (Retired) Firearms Instructor and First Choice Body Armor Regional Manager   "Your advanced Instructor Development Course, "The Neuro-Psychology to instant Precision Accuracy" in State College PA was absolutely "Transformational".  In my opinion, it goes beyond the form of any training I have ever taken.  Your credentials are impeccable, and the course content and the presentation of curricula you and Sherrie have developed over the years and your joint teaching method using Neuro Psychology is completely "Out of the Box".  You have taken the best of what has been taught over the years by some of the greats and gone not merely Transformational but Trans-dimensional, it was interesting, fun, and far beyond to the future of LE Firearms training.

I believe that those who train in your discipline and incorporate it into their respective departmental training, will allow them to deploy officers who are more confident and assured that they can handle any situation they may encounter. Most important, it will save lives."

Thanks to Matt I was able to achieve what I thought was only possible with years of practice and thousands of rounds of ammo.  Now it is available to anybody in just 1 day."   Wayne Padilla

"I have been in the Army for over 20 years.  I have taught many soldiers how to shoot, but I learned more in three hours than I learned in 20 years of being in the Army.  This is some of the best money I have ever spent ! "

Tom Halstead, Prescott Valley, AZ
"Matt Seibert's course is outstanding.  It combines and balances mental and physical training in a unique and extraordinary way.  I've shot the worlds best courses including the Israeli Anti-Terrorism facilities, and Matt's approach surpasses them all.  Few instructors get to the unconscious skill level.  Matt does it in fine fashion from the very first hour."
Kenneth R. O. Air Force Para Rescue,  AZ
"The only training I'd had was what we received at PJ school. We shot about 800 rounds a piece there, and in this training I learned more in the first day! This training will also transfer to a lot of other things we do. This is great mind conditioning!"
Donna Schmidt, Prescott, AZ
"Unbelievable!  The confidence, the accuracy - what a great achievement! - Smart training - So efficient - Great trainers!  So much fun - So exciting - Sharp shooting !"
Jim Clark, Dewey, AZ
"I've had over 50 years of shooting, from competition to military to law enforcement, and many shooting instructions (including FBI). This was by far the best instruction I've ever had!"

Bret, Firearms Training Supervisor

Major LE Agency/Academy in Arizona

"As a full-time professional law enforcement firearms instructor I believe it is my responsibility to attend training and study shooting and teaching techniques to gain more tools so I can better help those I train improve their skills to be prepared for the fight.  Over the years I have attended a lot of classes and all of them taught me.  Some provided simply bad information but I learned; some were only trigger time schools but I had the opportunity to work things out and learn; some gave me good information or tools to learn and incorporate into my training; and some were good enough to cause me to re-think how I am doing things and make me wonder if I can do it better.

Insight Firearms Training Development's 3-day Advanced Instructor Development, Teaching the Neuro-Psychology to "Instant" Precision Accuracy was one of the few classes that really made me stop and analyze how I am teaching some things and wonder if I can use their information to do a better job.  Some of their information reinforced what I am already doing; some information was a little different which I may or may not use; and some will have a direct impact on how I teach.  These are the types of classes I look for because if I am not being forced to question my techniques and knowledge I will become stale in my teaching, and my personal growth.

I recommend all firearms instructors continue to develop their knowledge and teaching skills, and look for people and classes that force them to re-examine their beliefs and understanding so they can continue to grow.  I believe this class is one that will make most instructors stop and wonder if they can be a better instructor, and I believe it can provide all firearms instructors tools to do a better job for their students."
