 Hey there divers!

Winter has arrived it seems. It has slowly been creeping up on us throwing us off course with bouts of rain and more but today Mr Chill in the air has presented itself and we are now forced to layer, switch on heaters and eat.

However This does NOT mean we should hide away from the icy fingers of the winter chill. Remember tomorrow might not be here so you did not want to spend today wasting...

As for us it has been a hectic two months, with exhibiting at the Rand Show, then the CRAZY Mayhem show and then off course a small visit to Thailand!

Where... do I start? Okay I know you all want to know about Thailand :) (just love rubbing it in).

A workshop aimed at giving a quick but fun introduction on how to start sorting out your bouyancy battles. Everyone seems to think that the most difficult skill in diving is a mask clear - not so - it is learning to control your bouyancy. And here is the secret, it is the skill that makes the most difference to your enjoyment of diving. Once you have completed the workshop you can use it as credit towards the speciality.

Rescue Course
Rescue
This is my new mission to convert as many possible Scubaversity divers into Rescue Divers. It is very simple you can not afford not to have at least the EFR and Rescue level experience for yourself as well as your buddies. This course is not difficult, it does not require good dive skills however it does teach you an amazing amount on being a safe confident diver!

News Well Thailand was absolutely, without a doubt, faaaantastic! Hot, hot, hot & humid, very friendly people, lots of cheap and good food and fantastic diving! As with any Scubaversity trip we had our share of fun, drama (girls chucking stilleto shoes at girls because boys have no clue how to behave - and if you want to know more you will have to come for a visit) and most importantly awesome diving.  The diving was fantastic and the liveaboard an experience never to forget, I wish I was 18 years old and could go travel the world, Thailand would definately be the starting point!

Talking about travelling the world, I am proud to say our first interns have found jobs, cut their hair and recieved salary cheques, some of them are now trainee managers at Scubaversity, and some of them will be on their way to Thailand pretty soon! I am already missing them but wish them only the best for the future they have grown up so fast in just one year and I know these guys will become leaders in the industry and everything they do, because they are flippen awesome!

The Mayhem Show besides being attacked by horrible weather on the Saturday was once again a huge success! We paid back almost R50000 in cash and it seems that 30% cash back was the norm - dammit! Anyway this will become an institution at Scubaversity so dont miss it next time because the odds are on your side, even if you dont want to buy anything but just see Colwin walking around in a funny hat and a green suit!

Lots of love to all of you and please dont be strangers, come have a cup of coffee and chat!

Cheers
Mandy

P.S. Do not forget about the infamous Guinjata bus trip coming up, this is ALWAYS a winner for Good times and Fun!
