Free Diving Course
I did not participate in this course but from observation alone, I thought it to be a challenge to one and all - from the entry level diver to the hard core instructor. Pushing new boundaries they all started holding their breaths starting from as little as 30 seconds finishing at over 2 minutes! At the end some made 30 meters on one breath and some made 12 meters, either was a huge achievement, because at the end it is all about mind over matter with the aid of the invaluable skills presented by Trevor Hutton. We will definately be running more of these and I am itching to participate myself - anyone can do this and it is fun!
Sharklife Presentation
Eye opening stuff - how sad is it that people feel so free to exploit our oceans!
The one thing Grant said that made me think - was that these exploiters could not get away with this horrible slaughter to our oceans - if they were doing it on the surface.
Imagine them going into your favourite game park on a daily basis , killing and butchering as many Lions, Rhino's etc for it's teeth, fur and left the rest to rot. - we would all be up in arms because it can be seen!
The problem is people can't see what is happening in our oceans so tend to care a little bit less (almost like abuse?)
We ARE THE AMBASSEDORS OF THE OCEAN - by merely being a diver WE ARE MORALLY BOUND to care! Sorry for the caps but trying to make a point...
Don't let them get away with murder
.
Educate yourself, read, join protests, talk about it anything but pushing it to the back just because we can not see it.
