Happy Holidays!
As we round out 2009, I am so excited and grateful for the new clients and friends we have made this year. We are enjoying our new studio in the Hirshfield's Design Center, and looking forward to what the new year brings!
Our last newsletter featured an article by Oram Miller. Shortly after we sent it out, we received an inspiring note from one of our clients. After reading his article in this newsletter, visiting his website, and scheduling a consultation, Maree is getting much needed sleep, without supplements, after battling sleep disturbances for 15 years! Truly amazing and exciting! To learn more about Creating Healthy Homes you can vist Oram at www.createhealthyhomes.com
In this article please take a moment to watch our video presentation on Hunter Douglas Window Treatments. We are highlighting three of the newest, most innovative blinds in the industry, and are offering a great discount!
Please also take a moment to read the article from Carole J. Hyder on keeping your home in balance during the holidays. Carole is the founder and instructor of the Wind and Water School of Feng Shui I attended for certification. Wind
and Water is a heartfelt, fun-filled,
information-packed program where instructors bring their
own wisdom and insight to the material and present it in a clear,
concise format. For more information on the Wind and Water School of Feng Shui, you can visit Carole's website at www.carolehyder.com
Is there a special piece of furniture your looking for to complete a look, but just can't seem to find it? I am going to the World Market in Las Vegas at the end of January, so if there is something you would like me to keep an eye out for, please contact me by the end of January!
Wishing you a safe and happy holiday season, Julie Ann

Fung Shui Tips for the Holidays
Carol J. Hyder
|
The holidays provide an opportunity for people to understand the concept of Feng Shui. Because it is based on the premise that your space reflects your life, it would follow that decorating your home during the holidays could correspondingly reflect changes in your life. Typically holiday decorations are vibrant, exciting, and dramatic, which in turn can add these elements to your day-to-day life. For some people, this is energizing; for others it overwhelms.
Here are some tips to help keep things in balance during the holidays. Doing just one of them may be enough to help you relax and go with the flow.
- Have minimal holiday decorations in the bedroom. Adding lights and/or decorations in a space that should be quiet and calming could disturb your sleep. Plus you've eliminated a quiet spot for yourself when you need to get away.
- Get rid of "expired" decorations. Decorations that are broken, torn, old, or no longer have fond memories attached to them should be discarded.
- Keep holiday clutter under control. Manage the stuff that is inherent with the holidays----cards, candy, gifts. Decorated boxes or baskets will keep these items from scattering.
- Concentrate on decorating the front door. The front door is a pivotal symbol for possibilities and opportunities that may come knocking. A simple holiday wreath or a few outdoor lights on the door can attract some good energy.
- Remove dried-out trees, boughs, mistletoe. When something has lost its vitality, it should be removed at once so it doesn't reflect a dead message to you or anyone else.
Try to implement as many as of these tips as apply for a balanced, peaceful, and inspired holiday.
