Success in Uganda with Change for Change, Brick by Brick

Bishop Zebedee Masereka, Sally Thompson, Leland Baldwin and Peggy Curlin with bricks collected for the new Bishop Masereka Medical Centre, Kasese, Uganda on February 26, 2012. We are making a difference!

Past and present Kamaiba sponsors are invited to join us for a celebratory dinner on Sunday, March 25 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM in the Parish Hall. Come hear about the recent trip and about the success stories from Kamaiba that are happening thanks to our help! Children are being educated and are receiving badly needed healthcare due to our financial support, and are more hopeful about their future because of our prayers and emotional support. Contact Leland Baldwin at lelandtbaldwin@aol.com for more information about the dinner. There is no charge to attend. We hope to see you there.

Sunday School Adds Creative Drama

The combined classes of 5- and 6-year-olds and 2nd and 3rd graders presented a skit depicting the trials of Moses and the Israelites on Sunday, March 4, for their parents and for the 4th and 5th graders in the 45 Club. Guided by teacher Danny Otero, the children took roles that included Pharaoh, the Elders, Jethro, Moses' wife, and of course, Moses. What a great way to bring the Word of God to life!

Wednesdays, March 7, 14 and 28

Dinner: 6:00 PM, Program: 6:45 PM

But how does it fit into our own lives, our relationships, and our personal sense of right and wrong? Please join together around these challenging questions in a series about what the American theologian Reinhold Neibuhr calls "the final form of love." A home-cooked meal will be provided and child care will be available.

Action Needed
Please Complete the Visioning Survey!
The St. John's Visioning Group is sending out a survey this week to gather feedback from St. John's parishioners on various aspects of our church life.  Your participation is important and will be helpful to the Visioning Group in identifying areas of focus and in formulating specific recommendations as St. John's enters its second century.  The survey will be sent via e-mail to your e-mail of record.  If you do not receive the survey, please contact the Parish offices to confirm your email address.  For those who do not have access to a computer, hard copies of the survey will also be available in the Parish offices.
Wanted: Home Visitors
Do you have the time to visit a home-bound parishioner one or more times per month? Please contact Mary Hulse at mmhulse@tampabay.rr.com with questions or to give your time. Our parish family needs you!
Please Turn in Your Pledge Card So That We May Accurately Budget for 2012
St. John's CentennialPlease prayerfully consider your pledge to St. John's Church for 2012. Your promise to support our Parish financially will help St. John's continue to provide a strong and vibrant spiritual home for our community of believers and to pursue our mission of ministering to those in spiritual and physical need.

Please contact Parish Administrator, Debbie Huelsman, by phone at 813.259.1570 or by e-mail at dhuelsman@stjohnstampa.org to give your 2012 Every Member pledge to St. John's Parish.
