Dear Log Rolling Friends and Family,
Wow does summer ever fly by fast! We are within days of the Lumberjack World Championships. I personally am more excited to see all of my log rolling family and smiling faces as we all share in the sports we love. Over the past few weeks there have been some questions about various USLRA rules. We are a board of volunteers and from time to time, things get overlooked. Such was the case in 2010. As a board we made a decision to be fair to competitors affected due to lack of availability of the rules. From this we have learned that as an organization we need to continue to be as transparent as possible and bring our communication skills to the next level. Please keep your eyes out for a survey from USLRA this September. And PLEASE take the time to fill this out with your input. We will discuss this input at our annual membership meeting after November Nationals on November 13th 2010. After this meeting we will do our best to finalize rules and rankings BEFORE the 2011 log rolling season begins. But in order to do this we will need everybody's help. We are going to need volunteers to sit on the board for next year, and we really need each and every member to fill out the survey that will be coming your way in September. Thank you so much for supporting our amazing sports of log rolling and boom running. Because of people like you our sports ARE growing, and I look forward to seeing more and more people across North America learn to love lumberjack sports as much as we do.
Sincerely, Shana Martin USLRA President Your 2010 USLRA Board |
