- European American Lutheran Association and the American Indian-Alaskan Native Lutheran Association will be holding their joint biennial conference that will focus on anti-racism training, a Book of Faith Bible Study on the book of Ruth, and cultural topics of treaty rights and responsibilities and Native American worship practices. Presiding ELCA Bishop Mark Hanson will be the keynote preacher and The Reverend Diane Jacobson will be leading the Bible study.

- Seminary Sampler at Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC), October 21-23, 2012
- The Seminary Sampler is a three-day visit event designed to give prospective students a "taste" of LSTC life. Here, they will have the opportunity to discern with other prospective students a call to ministry and how LSTC might be the place for them. Information given will include meeting students, faculty and staff, an introduction to our programs, a tour of LSTC and the surrounding neighborhood, scholarships and financial assistance, and much more. Housing, most meals, and some travel reimbursement are available.
