By now the ashen mark from Ash Wednesday is no longer visible, and we are back about the rhythm of our lives. To be sure, there's a different rhythm to Lent with soup suppers and worship in midweek. But there is enough of the "regular" rhythm to make even this time less different than it is the same. At work or at play, with friends, strangers or family, we tend to behave the ways we usually behave.

Lutheran Men in Mission Friday Nite "Huddle"

Southeastern Iowa Synod Lutheran Men in Mission  

  

 

Men of all ages and their friends are invited to join the Southeastern Iowa Synod Lutheran Men in Mission for a Friday Nite "Huddle" at 6:30 PM on March 9, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City, IA.  The keynote speaker will be Pr. Brian Gigee, lead pastor at New Life Lutheran Church in Perland, TX and Gulf Coat Synod Coordinator for Men's Ministry.  Pre-registration is $10 or $15 at the door (includes meal).  For registration and more information, contact Ryan Reid at 319.504.2836 or at ryanreid@mchsi.com.

Portico Benefit Services: A Ministry of the ELCA
 

By mid-February, 60 people from the Southeastern Iowa Synod had taken the
2012 ELCA Health Assessment.   To reach the goal of 65% participation and receive savings of $38,000 synod-wide on health contribution payments,
113 more people in the synod need to take the Health Assessment
before April 30.  To learn more about the Health Assessment and
