A Sobering Return

Pr. Dirk Stadtlander*

Waiting during a long layover
at Washington Dulles, we
checked e-mail using the airport's
free wi-fi service. It was bad news
from Senegal, and we hadn't even
gotten there yet. The nine-year-old
daughter of Honoré Badiane, EELS
employee in Yeumbeul, where we
lived for a year, had died from a severe
case of malaria.  Read More

*Pr. Stadtlander is rostered in the Southeastern Iowa Synod and is an ELCA missionary working with the the Lutheran Church of Senegal, and serves as pastor in the Linguere parish where he lives with his wife, Sarah, and their two children

Lutheran Men In Mission Town Hall Meeting
February 11, 2012 in Iowa City, IA

Just as Philip invited Nathanael in John 1:46, Lutheran Men in Mission (LMM) invites men to come and see Jesus Christ! LMM's vision is for every man to have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ through an effective men's ministry in every congregation. As part of this relationship we are called to walk with Christ, be equipped to live like Christ and sent to work for Christ.

On Saturday, February 11th, Lon Buss, LMM Region 5 Director will share information from LMM about resources, events and ideas for congregations regarding their ministry with men and helping them have a closer walk with Christ. There will be an opportunity to share ideas from congregations and discuss the potential for multi-congregational activities and raising the awareness of LMM's ministry in the area and synod.
