Individuals may donate through December 31 to receive a charitable contribution on their 2011 tax return.  The cut off for 2011 Mission Support for congregations is January 31, 2012, the end of the Southeastern Iowa Synod fiscal year.

Part of the work of the Commission for Evangelical Mission is to accompany congregations who are seeking renewal. Sometimes that means "tweaking" a mostly healthy ministry - renewal. Sometimes, that means taking a courageous leap of faith and entering a process of redevelopment.

Rostered Leaders Invited to "A Journey of Renewal"


Looking for a new way to focus on your personal wellness? A Journey of Renewal is an intensive, year-long wellness experience offered through the ELCA Board of Pensions to benefit ELCA rostered leaders for the sake of ministry. Its goals are to help you:

  • explore your strengths, core values and God's plan for you
  • create a personal direction statement that articulates your goals for the year-long experience
  • create a personal wellness plan that supports you as you live out your call to be a whole person of God

The timeframe for deciding is short . . . registrations are due no later than December 15th!
