BROCK'S
PERFORMANCE EXHAUST AND & BST WHEELS WIN WITH
TEAM HOOTERS AT WERA NATIONAL OPENER
DAYTON,
Ohio. (March 17, 2010) - Adding to the hundreds of victories and many
championships garnered at the highest levels of motorcycle dragracing, Brock's
Performance scored three wins in its first national-level roadrace event.
Armed
with a Brock's Performance CT Dual titanium exhaust system and BST carbon-fiber
wheels, Team Hooters' Tim Hunt rode to victory in the Formula 1, Senior Superbike Heavyweight
and WERA/A Superbike Expert classes at the opening
round of the 2010 WERA National Challenge series, held at Roebling Road Raceway
in Savannah, Georgia. He was also the runner up in Open/A Superstock.
Hunt,
who holds the unofficial track record and came into the races as a favorite,
said: "These were my first National wins. Getting three of them in one day was
a special bonus. During the off-season, I lost 25 lbs. and built a whole new
level of fitness. And so did our bike! The ultra-light BST carbon-fiber wheels
and Brock's Performance exhaust made a huge impact on the team's results.
For
his trio of wins, the Lavergne, Tennessee
racer pocketed $450 of the $2100 available in BST contingency
payout from Brock's Performance over the entire WERA race weekend.
Brock's Performance president Brock Davidson, who won the 2000 AMA/Dragbike
Superbike National Championship as a Suzuki-sponsored dragracer, was ecstatic
with Team Hooters' success: "We've experienced many wins, but scoring three in
this venue with an off-the-shelf exhaust system and wheels is beyond words. In
dragracing, the parts really matter. In roadracing the rider is key. Knowing
that we supplied Tim the parts to do his job is fantastic. We knew that the BST
wheels and the pipes we use at the dragstrip work well on the street; now we've
seen their effectiveness in roadracing."
"We felt confident coming into the season with a strong crew, fast riders and
proven bike," said Hooters team owner Steve DeCamp. "With a few tweaks to our
GSX-R1000's suspension to compensate for the lightweight wheels, the bike
handled amazingly and was an absolute rocketship. We're looking forward to having
Talladega specialists Tim Hunt and Opie Caylor in the saddle for the next
race."
Expanding
upon 25 years of sportbike dragracing innovation and success on the
quarter-mile, Brock's Performance is proud to be involved with this winning
team.
