Hello
I wanted to share the news with our Tournament Players/Volunteers/Officials and personally Thank each of you for your contributions to this award. On September 28th, I received a letter from Helen Martin, President USTA Georgia:
"On behalf of USTA Georgia, I want to thank you for all the service and outstanding accomplishments you had in the tennis community throughout this year. Your tireless effort has resulted in being honored as the winner of the 2011 Junior Tournament of the Year! This is quite an impressive accomplishment and you should be proud of your success". Helen Martin, President, USTA Georgia.
The USTA Georgia Annual Awards Ceremony was held Saturday, October 15th at the Atlanta Marriott Perimeter Center Hotel. Those attending on behalf of the tournament: Phyllis Mayfield, Deon Galatas, Angelo Cogdell, Carla Cogdell, Carolyn Redfearn, Judy Martin, Melinda Crooks, and Jo Bouchillon. I accepted the award on behalf of our players/parents/volunteers/officials and the Rockdale County, Conyers community. ConyersTennis.com Junior Classic Championship (Level 4) Tournament held May 21 & 22, 2011 was the winner. To honor all participating we had a banner made on your behalf...we will proudly display at all tournaments/events at Rockdale Tennis Center. |
If you consider the past recipients of this award, Jr. Qualifier (Macon) Southern and National tournaments, we are in great company. USTA Georgia sanctioned 355 tournaments for 2011, not including the Southern and National tournaments that also qualify for this award. As the GA award winner, we will also be considered for the "Southern Junior Tournament of the Year" . We have a lot to be proud of!!
We're Thankful that the Georgia staff and selection committee chose to recognize our service to our players and their families. Our standards are high and we'll continue to provide the amenities and personal service/recognition our customers deserve!
