Did you know that, based on NAR's survey of 5700 home buyers who purchased from mid-2010 to mid-2011:
- 89% of buyers used a real estate agent.
- The typical home purchased was 1,900 square feet with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- The typical seller lived in their home for 9 years.
- The share of FSBO sales was down to 10%.
- The typical buyer searched for 12 weeks and viewed 12 homes.

Supra Exchange Plans Delayed
RVAR has been working with Supra toward the goal of exchanging our existing lockboxes for Supra's new Bluetooth lockboxes. We had even scheduled a tentative exchange date at the end of February. However, RVAR and Supra have not finalized negotiations on the exchange. Therefore, exchange plans have been delayed.
RVAR plans to continue to work with Supra in order to provide the best possible lockbox system at the best possible price. RVAR will notify members once plans are finalized.

City/County Collaboration
The Planning, Building and Development Departments of both Roanoke City and Roanoke County have begun meeting to discuss common development procedures. Some regulations are the same - such as statewide building codes and regional storm water regulations. The goal is to streamline and develop common inspection and review procedures and technologies for the benefit of customers. They also hope to coordinate neighborhood planning at shared boundaries and develop a common update to new storm water regulations that are mandated to begin July, 2014.
