Cow of the Month
Angel
April's Cow of the Month is Angel. She is 3 years old and has delivered two calves, both females, named Allene and Angora. Angel is a great cow to work with. She is very friendly and loves to lick you.
Angel actually has one deformed foot, which causes her to walk slowly. That hoof needs to be trimmed (just like trimming your toenails) more frequently than normal. But considering her foot issues, she produces a good amount of milk. Last year she produced 23,470 pounds, and today she is averaging 110 pounds of milk per day - that's almost 13 gallons for your table. She knows how to pay the bills!
Did you know? It takes 25 gallons of milk to make 9 gallons of ice cream.
