Egg recall
Craig and Darlene Groothuis of Nashua provide our stores with farm fresh eggs, and free-range chickens and turkeys.
The recent egg recall has encouraged consumers to buy local products that they know are safe. The Groothuis chickens are trying to keep up! We have been informed the Groothuis farm will acquire 300 more chickens in the next few weeks to help fulfill demand. Craig and Darlene appreciate your patience during this time, as do we.

Response to comments
1. Comment from Rose, a happy customer: "I tried your milk after I became lactose intolerant and it's now the only milk I can have! I found you indirectly through mercola.com." Thanks, Rose!
2. Many customers had requested chocolate chip ice cream but the response to this new flavor was underwhelming. Most people like the chocolate as is.
3. We also have had people asking for ricotta cheese, but this product wasn't a popular seller either.
We love getting your comments and suggestions! Keep it up.

Cow of the Month
Anika
September's Cow of the Month is 4-year-old Anika. She is the highest producing cow in the herd right now with 110 pounds a day. That's pretty good for this time of year considering heat and humidity can decrease a cow's milk supply. At her peak she will probably give 130 pounds a day.
Anika just started her third lactation but she has quite a production record already - 55,380 pounds of milk in two years, which is 6,439 gallons for your table.
Anika is a hard worker. This girl is a strong, trouble-free cow and a pleasure to work with!
