Cow of the Month

Vanessa
Vanessa

Vanessa is our special Valentine for February. On our monthly test day, she produced the most milk in the herd a whopping 136 pounds! That's 16 gallons of milk to feed our customers. At $3 a gallon, she earns $48 a day in gross income. Once you subtract her feed costs ($17 a day), she makes a profit of about $900 a month.

Vanessa is 4 years old and has had two heifers and one bull in her lifetime. She is one of only 3 "V" cows in the herd. The "V" family had a string of bulls in row, making it almost extinct. The other two "V" cows are daughters of Vanessa.

This cow family knows how to produce milk while maintaining longevity. They are really nice cows to work with because you know they will produce a lot of milk for our customers!
