From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, we'll have a Sampling Day at both the Outlet in Cedar Falls and Moo Roo in Waterloo. New products, some meats and cheeses will be sampled.

We have two sources of fresh turkeys available. Tim Daley and Craig Groothuis will have turkeys that are range-fed. If you are interested, contact either Moo Roo or the Outlet.

Hansen's egg nog should be available before Thanksgiving.

Our holiday ice cream flavors are in! Stop in and try out Apple Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Egg Nog and Candy Cane.

Moo Roo will host the MDA "Thanks for Giving" Lock-Up event on Thursday, Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Some of Waterloo's Most Wanted are being charged with having big hearts. Their bail? $800 in honor of sending one kid to MDA Summer Camp. One of the celebrity "jailbirds" will be Eileen Loan of KWWL.

MDA's fundraising goal this year is $20,000. The jailbirds will eat, have fun raising pledges and get to know the other people behind bars at Moo Roo. Come out and meet the MDA Jailbirds!

Lorna Martin with Wildwood Farms in Wellsburg now has her granola bars, roasted nuts, cookie mixes, chai tea mix and cocoa mix available at both our stores.

Knot Enough Thyme has a selection of herbs, spreads, and dips for sale at both our stores. These herbs are organic and grown by Connie Tjarks, who has been growing them for 30 years near Maquoketa, Iowa. Check out the web site: knotenoughthyme.com.

In honor of fall foliage, November's Cow of the Month is Orange. This girl has a special marking on her neck that looks like an "O" (see photo), so her name is fitting. Orange is 4 years old and has had two calves - both bulls. She has produced 35,864 pounds of milk in her lifetime and has been a trouble-free cow. She's small, gentle and has a good attitude!

Thanks to all have made a visit to the farm for tours the past several months. We've enjoyed sharing our farm with you. We'll continue scheduling in the spring with a new tour center.

Thank you to everyone who came to Moo Roo for our Halloween party. We had about 35 people. Congratulations to our winners of pumpkin bowling, bobbing for worms and the other games. It was a HOWLING good time!
