Chocolate Milk & Buttermilk
We would like customer input about chocolate milk and
buttermilk. You can respond by email at
info@hansendairy.com, at the Moo Roo, or
at the Outlet.
Would you buy chocolate milk? Do we put in 1/2 gal or
gallons? Do we do Whole, 1%, or Skim? How often
would you purchase and how much would you use.
Would you buy buttermilk? How much would you
purchase and what quantity? We're thinking quarts
and 1/2 gallons?
Thanks for your time and suggestions.

IOWA Natural Soy Oil
Proudly grown by Iowa family farmers who deliver the
highest quality
to your
dinner table.
* Naturally trans-fat free and cholesterol free with half
the
saturated fat of other
soy oils.
* Naturally expeller pressed and preserved with no
artificial
additives or chemicals.
* Naturally light flavor brings out the true taste of food.
* Naturally the best choice for salads and cooking.
The Story
Iowa Natural Soy Oil is derived from a non-genetically
modified
soybean developed by
Iowa State University and produced by Innovative
Growers, LLC, a
farmer-owned
company.
Our Low Sat soy oil contains 50% less saturated fat
than regular
soybean oil, but still
contains a high level of polyunsaturated and
monounsaturated fats--the
good fats
essential for heart health. Low saturated soy oil also
has zero
trans fat, the fat known
to raise LDL (bad) cholesterol and contribute to heart
disease.
Our oil is expeller-pressed, without the harmful
chemicals or high
heat which produce
carcinogens found in other oils. This process cost
more... we think
you and your
family are worth it.

Cow of the Month

Fre and Flo
A set of twins made it on the list of Cow of the Month
for March. Fre and Flo are 4 and a half years old are
the only set of twins milking in the barn right now.
They've each had two bulls and one heifer in their
lactations. The twins are almost identical in looks and
production. Fre is milking 115 pounds a day with
50,500 pounds in her lifetime and 1,600 pounds of
butterfat. Flo milks 120 pounds a day and has
recorded 49,000 pounds in her lifetime with 1,650
pounds of butterfat. These twins are both very nice to
work with and are trouble-free cows to have in the
barn.

Kudos to You!
I am envious that I, in Indiana, have not found a place
like yours. I am from your area, went to UNI and so I
try to keep a little "up" on the area. My mom said she
tries to get your milk at Fareway when she has a
chance. I have considered driving an hour to go to
Whole Foods in Indianapolis to find milk like yours,
but here it cost 2-4X as much for something of the
sort. My dad hasn't forgotten when I bought whole
organic milk for my little girl to drink while at their
house. He thought it was about as close to their own
dairy milk (raw) as it could come (from when they still
milked). I am so proud of families like yours that are
bringing back quality milk. I buy half organic milk-
although 2x as much, but it ultrapasturized- bummer. I
would love to get flash pasteurized, non-homogenized
milk!
