December is coming, and with it a veritable musical feast! Kent's holiday music offerings range from David Lang's Little Match Girl Passion with his Manhattan School of Music Chamber Choir at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, to "A Cathedral Christmas" at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine with the Cathedral's choirs and orchestra, to his annual performances of Handel's Messiah at Carnegie Hall with the Oratorio Society of New York and Musica Sacra, as well as a Messiah at the Performing Arts Center at Purchase College in Westchester - and, of course, the annual "New Year's Eve Concert for Peace" at the Cathedral. See the listings below for details and to buy tickets!

The seventh installment of composer John Zorn's acclaimed book series Arcana, described as "a small step toward educating the interested listener about the inner workings of the artistic process," contains an essay by Kent, along with those by Pat Metheny, Bryce Dessner, Irvine Arditti, Thurston Moore, Kenny Werner, Eugene Chadbourne, David Krakauer, George Steel, Hilda Paredes, and others. Arcana is "a major source on new music theory and practice in the 21st century," and, as Zorn says, "provides insight into the work, mind and methodologies of some of the most remarkable creative minds of our time." And remember to visit the discography page of Kent's website, where you can listen to sound clips from his growing catalog of recordings - from organ recitals to new works in their premiere performances, to the choral classics!

A very happy and peaceful holiday season to all!
