MINISTRY CENTER ROOF UPDATE
Last month we shared with you about the need for the roof of our ministry center, the hub for all that takes place on our campus, to be repaired.  We are still raising funds towards that project but the need was so great, we had to start.

This past week, a crew has started the process of stripping down the old roof and begin preparing the new roof.  This was done in a timely manner so that the storms that are set for the end of the month will remain outside the building and not leak into the third floor as previous storms have done.

Part two of the project will start soon as they repair the shingles that are falling by replacing them on all sides of the roof.

We are looking for partners to help us pay for this much needed project. A promo video provides great perspective on the high value the Ministry Center brings to our campus.  View the video to learn more about this project. A downloadable version that you can share with others can be found at the website link below.

MEET MIKALA
Mikala joined our staff in May of 2015 and has almost completed her first year.  She is a great addition to the team and is very much appreciated by everyone who works with her.

Paula Hall, our Social Services Director stated, "Mikala has been a tremendous blessing to the social services department.  She helps clinical and direct care staff members with tasks related to: scheduling, communications, and compliance needs. She maintains the on line management of resident based documentation through our case management software system.  If there is a computer, scheduling, or appointment question, the staff know that they can always depend on Mikala to find the answers needed."

We are happy to have Mikala on the COMPACT team and invite you to learn a little more about her. This is our recent interview where we asked her to fill us in.

Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Bryant, AR, about 45 minutes from COMPACT.

How did you hear about COMPACT?
The first time I heard about COMPACT was at General Council/National Fine Arts Festival in 2011. It was there that I picked up a COMPACT journal and began writing prayers about my life then and for the future. Little did I know then that close to 4 years later, I'd receive an invitation for a job here, the answer to so many prayers written in that little journal.

SPRINGTIME FUN AROUND CAMPUS
As warm weather has arrived and spring is showing itself around campus, there are lots of activities to keep our kids active and occupied.  From fishing to skating to riding bicycles, there is always much activity.  A recent added activity is visiting the new cows that have arrived at our campus.  The Charolais Cattle provide a great interactive, fun experience for our kids.  Here you see one of our little ones providing a cow with a much needed afternoon snack.

COMPACT BIRTHDAYS
Birthday cards are always a treat to our kids on campus.  Please consider taking a few moments and sending a birthday blessing and word of encouragement to the following ones celebrating next month.

If you would like a full birthday list as opposed to waiting on this report each month, contact our office and we will get one for you.  Thank you for your continued support in making each of these kids feel special on their birthday.

FRESH START FOR A TLC RESIDENT

Recently a Transitional Living Center student completed our independent living program. The program serves high school graduates a healthier transition to independent adult life.

Mitsu is a beautiful young lady with a new apartment, a new car and a new life ahead. We are so proud of her accomplishments and can not wait to see what is ahead for her. We know she will be successful and grow even more on her own.

GRADUATION TIME

It's graduation time for COMPACT Seniors.  This year we have 1 Senior graduating.  There are a few students who will complete their GED program as well.  We look forward to celebrating them all and we will give you a look at our celebration for them next month!
