2015 HARVEST FESTIVAL & COMPACT 5K

On Saturday, October 3rd, we celebrated our Harvest Festival and had our 2nd COMPACT Run for the Family 5K.  Both events were a huge success and we had an adventurous time on our campus.  To date, we have raised just over $18,000.

We want to send a special thanks to all of our sponsors for our event. Without them, we would not have been able to accomplish all that we did.

STL GOAL
COMPACT Family Services was approved as a Speed the Light project for missions. To date, we have received 8 out of 10 brand new Speed the Light vans and we anticipate the arrival of the final two in the coming months.  These vans are the lifeline to our campus.  They aid in taking our kids to church, school, and around town.

In January of 2015, our students attended a STL rally and pledged to raise $6,000 towards STL.  Before our 5K, the students began asking their sponsors, friends, and family to sponsor them for the 5K.  As of today, our students have collectively raised $4,770.  We still have time to reach our goal by the end of 2015.  If you would like to be a part, you can send a donation marked "COMPACT STL" to our offices.
HIGHLANDS RELOCATION
This year, our campus worked on some major renovations and changes to some of our campus buildings.
Highlands Maternity Home Living Room and Dining Room
With the cultural shift surrounding pregnant teens, the need for a large 24 room home for Highlands Maternity Home was not necessary.  We took a beautiful 3 bedroom/3 bathroom home already on our campus and completely renovated it to include a garage apartment for staff as well as an office in the home. The finished home is beautiful and is prepared to be home for up to 6 girls at a time, including their
newborn babies or child.   Highlands is staffed with a loving couple from Arkansas and has a full time case manager to provide needed support, education and services to each of the girls that enter the home.

Highlands Maternity Home Bedroom
The former, larger, Anderson Building that was the original home for Highlands when it relocated to the Hillcrest campus in 2006 is now home to a new program. With the size of the building we have the potential to help up to 20 kids/students who come from extreme or emergency situations.

Thank you for your continued prayers and financial support to allow Highlands Maternity Home to continue to be a safe haven for girls who find themselves with child.

COMPACT CHRISTMAS
It may only be October, but at COMPACT, it is already Christmas season and we couldn't be more excited. The effort put into Christmas is a huge ordeal and it is something we could never pull of without the help of donors, sponsors, and our friends.
If you would be interested in getting a wish list of one of our kids, contact our office and we will provide any information you need. We have a need for specific items as well as some general items so we can be prepared to offer a full Christmas to any kid who walks through our doors between now and December.
2016 MISSION TEAMS
Calling all missions teams for 2016.  Is your church, youth group, or team looking for a place to take your team for a short term missions trip?  Our campus may be a great location for you.  We are currently taking applications for 2016 and if you are interested, contact rwingo@agfsa.org and request one.
ORPHAN SUNDAY
Mark your calendars now for Sunday, November 8th for Orphan Sunday.  Orphan Sunday is your opportunity to rally your church, your community and your friends to God's call to care for the orphan.

On our website, we have placed links to some videos that would be available for your use in services for that weekend. Utilize the following link for direct access to the videos:

Birthday cards are always a treat to our kids on campus.  Please consider taking a few moments and sending a birthday blessing and word of encouragement to the following ones celebrating next month.

If you would like a full birthday list as opposed to waiting on this report each month, contact our office and we will get one for you.  Thank you for your continued support in making each of these kids feel special on their birthday.
