May 2015

We recently celebrated the accomplishments of 4 of our Hillcrest graduates as they finished their years of High School.  We celebrate big here and had a reception in their honor.  We are super proud of these ladies and we are excited for and pray for each one of their futures.

Congrats Kay, Ruby, Jameka, and Gretchan!!

Jill joined the COMPACT family in July of 2011 and has served as a Case Manager for Hillcrest Children's Home since then. Her original plans were to be here for an interim time of a few months but at four years later, she is still here and knows this is where she is supposed to be for this season in her life and career.

Jill's time began when she arrived in Arkansas for what she thought would only be for a few weeks in July of 2011. She was in Little Rock staying with family so she could study and prepare to take her National Counseling exam. While in Little Rock, it was suggested she visit a local AG church, North Little Rock First Assembly on a Wednesday evening. She felt so welcomed and was encouraged to return on the following Sunday. She did and although not all details of that morning stand out, a few things transpired that completely shifted her purpose for being in Arkansas. At the end of that service, the directors of AGFSA then, Bob and Mary Michels, were in the service and were asked to stand as the pastor was reminding the church of their upcoming support for future renovation of the worship chapel at Hillcrest Children's Home. READ MORE

In February of this year, a number of our residents had the opportunity to participate in the Arkansas District's Fine Arts Festival. We are happy to announce that six of those residents have received an invitation to the Assemblies of God National Fine Arts Festival being held in Orlando, Florida this upcoming August. Their large human video presentation was selected to compete among other teens across the nation for a national award of merit.  We can also take these teens to Disney World for one day. It is a lifetime opportunity for these six students! The cost to send the six students and two staff is approximately $6,000.

Exciting things are happening here at COMPACT and we are blessed to have supporters along side us for the journey.  If you would be interested in supporting a portion of this incredible opportunity for these students, please send a donation designated to "Fine Arts" to our offices at the address below.

Birthday cards are always a treat to our kids on campus.  Please consider taking a few moments and sending a birthday blessing and word of encouragement to the following ones celebrating next month.

Summer is just around the corner and that means youth camp and kids camp is too.  We have 30+ kids attending some sort of camp this summer and we need your help to send them.  Camp is valuable for our kids where they walk away with life changing altar experiences as well as friendships and memories to last a long time. Camp is also a costly expense and we invite you to make a donation that could affect a child for eternity. Consider sponsoring one of our kids today.  Send your donation marked with "Youth/Kids Camp" to our offices today.

Youth Camp, June 29 to July 3 - $150

Kids Camp, July 26 to July 29 - $125
