On any given day, there is a lot of moving forward that takes place on our campus, literally. From the first thing in the morning to dropping kids off at school to quick trips to the store in the evening for some supplies, our campus utilizes vans to move us forward. Outside of school, we use the vans to get us to church, doctor appointments, hair appointments, youth activities, sports events, and more. Speed the Light (STL) is helping us do that and we are grateful. Across this nation, on any given day, Assemblies of God students are sacrificing their lunch, forgoing their personal extra plans and instead giving their money to STL, and our kids and youth are reaping the benefits.
Recently, an opportunity arose where a young man in one of our cottages noticed an individual while running an errand and requested his houseparent to stop so they could pray with the individual. Evangelism is taking place with the use of these vans!

COMPACT Family Services was approved for 10 ministry vehicles through STL and we have already received 5 of those 10. Thank you STL for believing in our mission and jumping on board to help move us forward. Our most recent 2 vans arrived a couple of weeks ago and we use them daily. Pray with us that the remaining 5 vehicles will come in 2015.

COMPACT SEASON OF PRAYER
For the past 10 days and into the month of March, we at COMPACT are in a season of prayer. Over the next few months, we have some incredible opportunities before us and we are entering that season by allowing God to lead and direct us. We have released a Prayer Guide that we invite you to download and join us as we pray collectively during this time.

This month, we are highlighting another new employee, Lonni. She joins us all the way from Stillwater, Minnesota and we are happy to have her on our team. She is an exuberant, outgoing person with a bubbly personality and since September of last year, she has been a great addition. She serves as one of our Resident Assistants which means she steps in to serve wherever needed. Check out our interview we had with her.

How did you hear about COMPACT Family Services?
It was the semester before graduating from college and I was meeting with my adviser about my last semester, graduation, and plans after graduation. I was sharing with my adviser about where I felt God had been leading me recently. In the months leading up to that meeting, I felt God very surely leading me towards serving youth in Foster Care. My adviser told me about his friend, Jay Mooney, who was the director of a Children's Home in Arkansas.
Was there a moment that you instantly knew that you were supposed to be here?
Definitely, sort of. I was flying home from a missions trip to an orphanage in Puebla, MX. I knew on that flight that God was about to move me somewhere, somewhere BIG! Then, a few weeks later I got a call from COMPACT Family Services about an open position.
What has been the most rewarding thing about being a Houseparent or working for COMPACT?
Seeing lives, hearts, and minds change and heal in a positive and safe environment.
What has been your most favorite moment?

New years resolutions are something that is popular each year, especially in January. Often times they lead to healthier lifestyles, develop habits for a closer walk with God, while others provide direction in finances. Consider starting a resolution this year to aid in the care and support given to a child in Foster Care.
Here at COMPACT, we are a 97% donor based ministry. Without sponsors, we would not be able to provide the around the clock care to each of the kids on our campus. Through child sponsorship, you can partner with us.
Make a commitment this year to sponsor a child in 2015. For as little as $30 per month, you can help us help a child in need. For more information and to sign up, go here.
