CARDS OF HOPE
Every month, Barbara Miller spends nearly 2 weeks cutting, stamping, coloring, and writing approximately 152 cards. That is enough to send one to each child in care at 5 different children's homes. This is something she doesn't take lightly. We are blessed at Hillcrest to be one of those homes.
Barbara and her husband Roy are long time supporters of Hillcrest Children's Home and they have an incredible testimony that lead them to do what they are still doing today, almost 19 years later.
We recently interviewed Barbara to hear the story of how this began.
Tell us how you started making cards for our kids?
I love doing it; it's something God gave me. In June, 19 years ago, I was almost killed in a car accident. I had my two daughters with me as well. REACHING THE NEXT GENERATION
Highlands Maternity Home has recently ventured into the ministry of post-natal care, meaning that young women can stay for approximately 12 months after giving birth to their child. Additionally, Highlands is now able to accept young moms who have already had their baby and are looking to learn Godly parenting skills.
 The first resident to arrive at Highlands under the post-natal care scenario came only 4 weeks after delivering her baby girl. The team at Highlands was thrilled at the opportunity to be able to mentor this new mother and support her as she journeyed through the ups and downs of having a newborn.
