Organizational Announcement in Ethics and Compliance
Bringing safe, reliable and sustainable energy to our many customers around the world is important. How we do it is just as important which is why we rely on our five shared AES Values to guide our actions. Our Values help us to maintain the highest ethical standards in everything we do at AES.
As we shared in April, we have been in search of a new Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer (CECO). A CECO is responsible for leading our efforts to ensure our 21,000 people around the world understand and uphold our Values in all that they do. I'm pleased to announce today that we've selected Tom Stimson, who has been on the Ethics and Compliance team for the last four years, to be our new CECO.

Accelerating Global Sourcing Opportunities: Meet the teams that are making it happen
Global Category Management
Being an energy star means challenging ourselves to improve the way we do things. As previously shared, the Accelerate Global Sourcing Opportunities work stream's main objective is to aggregate demand through categories of spend, harmonize our sourcing processes and tools, and improve the management of our contracts and suppliers. The entire Supply Chain organization defined two task forces, the Global Category and Portfolio Management team and Global e-sourcing SAP Ariba implementation team, to reach its objective and deliver results.
The Global Category and Portfolio team works in conjunction with the plants and regional teams to forecast and develop procurement plans for non-fuel items for the next three to four years. The team is working to find ways to combine purchases on a regional and global level.
