Andrés Gluski participates in annual meeting of the IDB and ICC


Andrés Gluski, AES President and CEO, participated in a panel discussion at the 2016 annual meeting of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Inter-American Investment Corporation (ICC) in the Bahamas. The panel, "The Caribbean's Energy Challenge," discussed ideas to develop a more competitive and diversified Caribbean energy sector, promoting increased regional integration and economic growth. Andrés also participated in a discussion with other government and non-governmental leaders to summarize recommendations on opportunities for the private sector to partner with government representatives. The ideas were submitted by the American Business Dialogue to governments of the region.

AES Gener recognized at the Santiago Stock Exchange


AES Gener, part of the Andes SBU, received recognition from the Santiago Stock Exchange. The exchange honored the 40 companies that make up the Selective Stock Price Index or IPSA, its acronym in Spanish.
 
Ricardo Falú, AES Gener CFO, Sherry Kohan, AES VP, Planning and Business Analysis, and Tomás González, AES Gener Investor Relations Manager accepted the award. The recognition strengthens the links between issuers and Chilean stock exchanges, promotes liquidity of shares and fosters sustained development between partner companies.

AES Jordan's Amman East Power Plant achieved ISO 55001 certification for asset management


AES Jordan's Amman East Power Plant, part of the Europe SBU, recently obtained ISO 55001 certification for its asset management system. ISO 55001 is an asset management system framework that helps businesses manage the lifecycle of their assets from acquisition to decommission.  AES is the first company in Jordan to be awarded with an ISO certification for asset management. It took a year and a half for AES Jordan to complete the necessary improvements to its asset management system.

AES Tietê awarded with ISO 55001 recertification


AES Tietê, part of the Brazil SBU, recently completed the recertification for their ISO 55001 application.  The recertification ensures the growth of market competitiveness, increases the organizational level of the plants, facilitates the control and decision-making process of the senior management, and maximizes the return on investments of our shareholders.  AES Tietê was the first company in Latin America to be awarded with the ISO 55001 certification last year for the operation and maintenance of hydropower plants and small hydropower centers, including the management of reservoirs, energy generation and support processes.

Freddy Cofre Llanos is Always On for Safety 



Freddy is a Supervisor at AES Gener Complejo Costa located in Chile, part of the Andes SBU. He works for Altimec, a contractor company. Freddy embraces the AES safety culture and is known for promoting the company's values, especially safety. He actively participates in safety campaigns implemented by Altimec.



Freddy was recently recognized at AES Gener for his strong commitment to safety. In his role as a Safety Monitor, he is responsible for observing behaviors of his teammates. He takes this responsibility seriously and promotes safe practices at the workplace. Freddy also adheres to the safety standards at AES Gener and is an active agent of change among the work teams.
